Big mistake, dude. I acknowledge the situation you were in, and I feel for you, but... that's just a terrible decision. How does a manager act like this? Seriously. AND thank god this game is pretty much over barring a huge throw by C9. A lot of "managers" in eSports are really just buddies of pro players or ex-pros who don't have much business acumen and professionalism. I'm not hating on guitar in particular, but it's something I observed over the years of following both SC2 and League of Legends.

Can we stop shitting on gtr about this? It's been fucking done to death. It wasn't the ideal situation to go about doing it, but he had to. Either start managing a team or shut the fuck up already.

You people are giving way too much free "press" to him for making his decision. Just ignore it, and it will work out the way you want more than if you keep talking about it. I'm relatively certain guitar was warned about Deezer pretty well just from TL, and he's choosing a certain method which seems like marketing to me.

Velocity have already qualified for the LCS up/downs iirc, so this tournament is really just for the prize purse
|
I guess it's not happening this season, srry gtrsrs. Maybe next season~
EDIT: Oh, they qualified for ups and downs? Ok, never mind then ^_^

Yeah, I hope Velocity gets their teamwork together by the Up/Downs. Makes sense they get stomped now considering they just got a new player last week.
I would love to see TheOddBros duke it out. Maple really helped me out with my Varus play, so I really hope he makes it into LCS!

Yeah don't give too much shit on guitar doods, like any manager in na teams he probly just follows what the players agree on and pretend he do stuff... pretty funny @ the 6 hours of footage unseen, i had no clue who was deezer, i youtubed his name and saw the first 5 mins of the "discution with catz" or w/e. that did not make it seem like a "little bit of troll", i make him seem like a major asshole.

After the original offline quals Clakey and Nickwu said that Hai was being extremely arrogant talking about how c9 had no chance at losing and how they would crush mrn, so I always just kinda assumed he wasn't a cool dude but he seemed pretty cool in the interview, that said you can tell by the way he said "I don't want to say who will win because I don't want to jinx myself shows he may have learned his lesson.

I mean he threatened to rape/murder Destiny's kid, but you know just a lil' troll.

I don't follow SC2 at all, but after browsing thread and simply youtubing "Deezer SC2"........
Wow what a character. I'm amazed Catz engaged in that IQ degenerating conversation as long as he did. I could only listen to 5 minutes and the video was 25. Lol.

why is deezer aloud to play on a pro team?
|
|
Guitar rivalling the guy from blight gaming as the biggest retard in esports.
Deezer can never play LCS this is great :D
|
haha :D why am I not surprised that he already has a perm banned account :D
and asking for deezer feedback from TL and not actually looking into what people post, cool.

And I'm sure we've all seen stuff just as bad in soloqueue chat - Can you really blame gtr for not denying a player based on 3 year old trash talk? If we wanted to convince him, we should have gone for proof that he maphacked [is there even proof of this at all? I just see accusations] or some offense more grevious than just being BM.
I'm not defending deezer, I'm defending gtrsrs's decision based on the information he was given. After seeing his video, I'm sure I would have ended up making the same decision as him with the information that was given to me, becasue the only thing we managed to prove to him is that Deezer used to have an impressively shitty attitude, but nothing worse. Considering how many impressively shitty attitudes float around in league, who could really be swayed by that?

According to that vlog, gtrsrs couldn't be bothered to even look at "the information he was given". So you defend that practice? At this point, Deezer should be so far past the point of getting the benefit of the doubt that no one should ever touch him, no matter how desperate. Even if he has truly changed, he will always bring that baggage of having been as big a scumbag as he was wherever he goes, and something like this will happen.

gtr continues to be completely unprofessional and willfully oblivious about the situation. I wonder if its worth bleeding tons of support (even from TL) for his team to use a player who already has a permabanned account and isn't allowed to participate in LCS anyways. lol.

Most of the videos i've seen that people were posting publicly were just full of trash talk and rage from Deezer. I just don't see how that's going to sway anyone who's played more than 10 soloqueue games in league. Considering gtr (or me, for that matter) didn't know that Deezer had a previously permabanned League account until Janook informed us, I don't think trash talk from another game really has enough bearing on gtr's decision making process to sway his decision.
Velocity is still in the "awkward as fuck because we've had so many players taken from us" position they used to be in. They're in a shit situation and are forced to make shitty decisions.

Play 10 games of soloq and show me a screenshot of the bm you witnessed that is similar to the Deezer stuff. Also please dont tell me you are surprised he has a previosly perma banned account. People do not start to be someone else just because they play a different game.

The thing I find most interesting is IWD was only banned for a year when his account was permabanned, Janook makes it seems like Deezer will never be able to play in the LCS. Wonder if this is because Riot is taking past into account when making this decision.
Edit: Nvm reading OP, he says "currently banned." So a permaban is probably a blanket 1 year ban from competitive play.
