Other mids scale harder/have better utility? That would be my guess. Sure it is a safe lane but if someone like Ori goes even she is going to bring more to a teamfight than Ahri. | ||

If you look at pro-picks in team comps, it's all about specialties and extremes. A lot of the god-tier teams, are more worried about midgame comps (or late game comps), over early lane phase comp. Ahri is godly in lane, and is slightly above average in midgame and lategame comp, but a lot of other AP carries offer so much more utility or damage in lategame. | ||

Safe farm lanes dominate, so it's hard for Ahri to make an impact in lane. She gets screwed over by AD swapping into mid. Her impact into mid-/lategame teamfight can be limited by CC and focus, because all her survivability relies on her getting her ultimate off to get into close range and out again. | ||
