[IEM] Kiev Discussion - Page 109

At any point of IEM Kiev, if you think of an interesting byline, please drop a sentence in the Pro Scene thread. (e.g. "Day 2: M5 hype was everything people expected") At the end of the month, I'll catalogue the results of Kiev but also any interesting facts or events that happen over the course of the tournament. Thanks. Neo, 20.1.2012

M5's "weakest" lane is definitely their bot lane. Genja is less orthodox is how he doesn't hard carry like most other Ranged AD players. Teams need to realize this and tackle it somehow when facing M5. I think we should wait until the rest of Genja's team doesn't completely rape the opposing team to see him carry... it's true that AD carry just kicks in later, maybe they just always win before he gets to carry? Also btw I'm not sure what you even mean, both this and the last game he played amazingly

I'm glad it's not just me who remembers that TSM used to play like this. Obviously it's no where near this level but at some point they just became a normal American team. Having fun watching M5 roll over everyone though. Hoping this prompts other teams to try overhauls. Competitive LoL has a tendancy to have a team revolutionise something that people pick up on for a little while then all of a sudden everyone forgets about it and goes back to playing how they used to.

M5's bottom only looks bad because their other lanes are so good that their bottom looks bad in comparison. When the bottom was on stream it looked like they were trading very well with Candypanda.

Yeah, there's definately a bruiser-y/duelist feel to how they play bot, with Genja consistently building DBlade stack, Wriggles, Zeal=>PD and only getting an IEdge if the game goes on long enough to warrant it; Gosu Pepper's Taric had HoG, Ruby Crystal and only a Faerie Charm instead of a Philo.

I think this is the major issue with LoL for spectators. Usually the last 15 or so minutes are just a slow death of one team. There are exceptions of course but 4 out of 5 games have the winner decided after 20 minutes. M5 will probably win. I like TSM but M5 just seem like this unstoppable force right now.

MF actually got an IE this game, but opened Wriggle triple doran zeal zerkers before starting on IE (boots 1 somewhere in the wriggle/doran area). M5's bottom only looks bad because their other lanes are so good that their bottom looks bad in comparison. When the bottom was on stream it looked like they were trading very well with Candypanda. I feel like this stems from the fact that M5 jungler is so active in counter jungling and contesting enemy buffs so he spends very little attention to bot lane, so bot lane plays early/mid game safe style, dorans+wriggles. They know they don't need to bring that IE to bear that early, they'll just need to do their thing in the lane and survive.
