Hello everyone! IGN Pro League is very excited to bring you our first online League of Legends competition: Killing Spree! This will be a weekly best of 3 showmatch, where the winners will earn some cash and return the next week to defend their title. If a team does particularly well and wins multiple weeks, they will earn themselves a killing spree and rack up bonus cash along the way! Just like in the game, if someone is on a killing spree they are worth more gold when they are taken out. Any team that ends a killing spree will also earn some additional prize money. Each week we will invite a different team to compete against our reigning champions.
Our First Teams!

Format & Prizes Each week we will have a reigning champion playing against a brand new challenger in a best of 3, 5 vs. 5 on Summoner's Rift. The built-in Draft Mode will be used for picks and bans, with 3 bans per team. If a single team wins three weeks in a row, they will start a Killing Spree, and will earn an additional bonus prize of $100 AND have a $100 bounty placed on their heads. Here's a hypothetical run that a team could go on:
+ Show Spoiler +Team A > Team B ----- Team A earns $300 Team A > Team C ----- Team A earns $300 Team A > Team D ----- Team A is on a killing spree and earns $300 + $100 (+$100 bounty) Team A > Team E ----- Team A continues their killing spree and earns $300 + $100 (+$100 bounty) Team A < Team F ----- Team F ends Team A's killing spree and earns $300 + $200 bounty

Still their main, it hasn't changed. mandatorycloud (AP), Atlanta (jungle), BalIs (top), Xmithie (AD), LemonGod (Support). MegaZero is their exclusive sub.
|
Cool to see organizations stemming out to include more games (NASL with HON, here) Hope the games are as good as those from Fight Club
|
Looks cool. I hope Goose does well just because they're the underdog
|
Finally, I can't wait for this. Time to climb the ladder to participate :D

No, that was due to Kiev. cloud couldn't go first, then LemonGod couldn't. Both due to parental reasons.
If Goose really needed another support player, they have CuRtoKy on backup as well. CuRtoKy is something of a Nhat Nguyen lite, another dedicated support player, just without all the tournament experience.

I stand corrected. I'll ask someone who's replacing LemonGod full time.

this bounty system is rly sick imo
|
wow, this looks really good. it's nice to see more weekly events with funding.
|
Nice, IGN production values are sick.
|
I'm stoked. I love IGNs sc2 events. I can't see this being anything but great (unless the casters are terrible, but they found good sc2 ones). I don't know much about the LoL pro teams though, is CLG a pretty big favorite?

CLG are heavily favored in this bo3.
|
Woow, thanks for doing this IGN! I love your SC2 events aswell, CLG will probably take this though, unless they play it not seriously.

i just hope the casting doesn't suck, i have to watch most league muted as it stands
edit: nvm never even heard of these casters, except i think aj was on that one wcg show, oh well.

I've never heard AJ cast(if he even has before) but Baron has done some work for NESL and Wellplayed. He's definitely the best non-pro caster I've heard other than maybe Deman and Joe Miller(which isn't really saying that much, I suppose).

CLG is a heavy favorite I feel, especially with Goose trying to fix their roster.

$300 bucks a week for a Bo3. Seems like teams would play this seriously. If they can play strong and 2-0 teams, it's $60 a player an hour. Even if games go 45 minutes, it's $40/hour.
I'm excited to see my first competitive LoL. I just started playing as it is easier to play and win for me than Sc2.

If yes, I have a small idea for you, one I have tried to pass along to riot (but they dont actually listen). You probably wont have time this week, but it would be a good idea to insert a "what each champion picked does" intro after picks and bans so that its easier to introduce the game to new players. Something like the intro to each new champion spotlight, where it shows the graphics for the ability and the casters can give a brief description of what the spell does. MOBAs are very hard to follow if you have never played it before, and that is a great way to ease new viewers in.
Also, please insert a graphic that keeps track of dragon, baron, and inhib spawns. The observer client doesnt actually track them, which is a HUGE problem when watching the game. It should be fairly simple to just add an overlay to the video showing when those objectives will respawn.

Is RFLX a lot better than people give them credit or is Crs just completely incompetent without Pobe being a beast for that 1-2 month span where he/Crumbz/Jacky could just carry them. I have never seen Copp perform. Crs really seems to have fallen off over the past months, but I wouldn't expect them to look like this.

Mmmm. I would appreciate knowing this stuff beforehand to make threads. Anyway, Phantoml0rd is probably going to get banned out since I don't think the other players are well known enough to be banned out. And there's nothing else obvious to ban that comes to mind.

Haha, okok.
But any head's up IGN can provide would be appreciated. JBright and MoonBear take pride in their OP for livereport threads. Having a couple hours before the event is live makes it a rushed process.
Hope you understand. ty :3

Thankfully MoonBear has been taking care of all the Killing Spree threads so I haven't had to worry about it yet <3
Any idea who will be playing tomorrow?

Hello everyone! IGN Pro League is proud to bring you the seventh week of Killing Spree, and we're doing it LIVE once again! This is a weekly best of 3 showmatch, where the winners will earn some cash and return the next week to defend their title.
Our Teams!

Any team meeting our 1700+ ELO requirement (Meaning the average solo queue ELO of your members is 1700 or greater) may apply here: http://esports.ign.com/lol/signup

Format & Prizes Each week we will have a reigning champion playing against a brand new challenger in a best of 3, 5 vs. 5 on Summoner's Rift. The built-in Draft Mode will be used for picks and bans, with 3 bans per team. The first team to win 2 games will be named the King of the Hill or Champion and earn themselves $300 and the chance to play again the following week.
Schedule Our first broadcast for Killing Spree will begin Friday, Feb 24 1:00am GMT (GMT+00:00).
There will be a European rebroadcast on the day following the first broadcast on Friday, Feb 24 5:30pm GMT (GMT+00:00).
