With the recent departure of us Nicholas "Gleebglarbu" Haddad team fusion has announced on their site that he shall be replaced by former Cognitive Gaming support ca Lawrence "Trance "Amador.

Hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia, Lawrence “Trance” Amador will be joining Team Fusion’s starting roster in the Support position. Amador is a veteran of the challenger scene and brings a potent combination of decisive shotcalling and aggressive playmaking to the team. His roots lie with Canadian eSports organization Y So eSports where he was picked up as the team’s starting jungler under the handle “LGhunter.” From there he joined Team Solo Kill, formed by former Final 5 jungler Ryan “ShorterACE” Nget, whose roster was acquired in July 2014 by COGnitive Gaming.

Amador has been playing with the rest of the Fusion roster for several weeks in practice and scrims, and has performed excellently. His mechanical skill and vision control are exceptionally strong and compliment the team’s existing strengths well. His impact on the team’s performance has been immediate and has helped carry the team to a 4-1 record so far in the recent ESL Pro Series. Furthermore, during Amador’s trial period, Zach “Nien” Malhas described him as “a nicolas cage” during their time playing SoloQ together. Amador is vocally excited about playing with Nien, and had this to say on their future together:

“The way I see it is if I help him get to the top he will carry me with him, which means I’ll get to the top too. I just need to help nurture his ability to get there, to get to his goal.”

Support for Amador doesn’t stop with Nien however. In addition to the rest of the roster enjoying their games playing with their new teammate, coach Magic “Magic” Swedin, responsible for scouting Amador, has nothing but praise for the new recruit. When asked to comment on Amador’s tryout success, Swedin replied “It was a very clear decision […] the second we started tryouts I was very confident that he was going to be the one.” Despite the praise, Amador is humble in his self-evaluation, and knows that a strong work-ethic is a must if he wants to do well in the future.

“I feel very lucky that I got onto Fusion because I know they’re a very strong team with very capable players. I’m very happy and grateful that they considered me for the position. I’m very excited to tear up the scene with them.”

Amador will be joining the rest of the Fusion roster in the gaming house in the near future, and is expected to play in all upcoming tournaments as well as the North American Challenger Series.

With the recent departure of kr Yoon “MakNooN” Ha-woon team fusion has announced on their site that he shall be replaced by substitute Top laner us Josh “Chunkyfresh” Kesrawani.

Following Yoon “MakNooN” Ha-woon’s departure from Team Fusion, tryouts were held to scout new top lane talent in order to fill the void left by the OGN veteran. After searching far and wide for an un-scouted talent or compatible free agent, Fusion’s coaching staff reached an interesting conclusion: their #1 pick was already signed to the team. Substitute player Josh “Chunkyfresh” Kesrawani, originally picked up as a mechanically gifted understudy, proved not only to be an exceptional mid laner, but also a very strong top laner. His performance during practice and scrims has been described in no uncertain terms as dominating by his teammates and coaches. Further solidifying this assessment, Kesrawani proved that he has what it takes to perform well under pressure and delivered a strong performance in the ESL Pro Series. Despite losing game 1 of the series against LCS veteran Zach “mandatorycloud” Hoschar and his Team Storm, Kesrawani drew a target ban immediately before proceeding to have a dominating Irelia performance. Team Fusion went on to win the series 2-1 thanks in no small part to Kesrawani’s Irelia and Lissandra play.

When asked to comment on his performance, Kesrawani was humble and emphasized that he felt like he still had “a lot to work on.” Coach Magic “Magic” Swedin stepped in to talk up his new top laner, echoing the positive description from the rest of the team and added “I brought him to the house initially because I knew wherever we needed a player he would be our guy.”

Kesrawani will no longer be fulfilling the duties of a substitute and will be added to the starting roster for the foreseeable future. He will play for Team Fusion in all upcoming tournaments as well as in the North American Challenger Series.

I think Trance is decent enough, it's Chunky starting at top that worries me about that team.

Yeah, Chunky's EPS performances have been pretty rough. Hopefully he acclimates better to the role given a bit of time.

I think they'll improve. They just swapped out 2/5ths of their team and have to adapt to a top laner with a vastly different playstyle. They have a more well funded support staff than many challenger teams so I think it's only a matter of time before they start looking better, I would really hate to see the team die out.

I don't think Chunky will be a carry like Maknoon was, and instead will play a more supportive role while Nien and Huhi carry.

Nien and Trance appeared to have good synergy in bot lane. Especially in comparison to Gleeb and Nien. Maybe it's because there's less on the line and they're not facing top tier bot lanes. But their play definitely looks a lot more confident.

I wonder, do people still consider Fusion to be the front running Challenger team coming into LCS? There's Roar, and that team Alex Ich's supposedly joining, and C9's challenger team...

With auto-promotion enabled, the Challenger teams will fight tooth and nail for that first spot and probably be dejected if they have to go through a promotion series, which Challenger teams traditionally lose.

I don't think so anymore. Fusion having swapped out 2/5ths of their team might as well be a mostly new team imo, I don't think they retain enough synergy to be considered a shoe in anymore. I think their support staff is a bigger deal as they have 3 coaches and just brought on a new person today according to twitter.

I don't think Chaox's team will do very well, and Alex Ich has looked shaky for a long time. I think C9, Fusion and maybe NME are the front runners.

Makes sense. Like I said in the C9 Challenger thread, I expect more of the established LCS orgs to gamble on Challenger teams. Auto-promotion means an easy payday for the LCS orgs should their Challenger team take first. Fusion lost MakNooN and Gleeb, which were arguably their two worst players in Promotion, so I think they'll be alright,

It's just a hunch (and a hope), but I think it's safe to add Dragon Knights to that list. They're very impressive for a challenger team.

I thought I was missing one! DK definitely have looked good so far. Having strong challenger teams and organizations getting involved will only make the scene stronger. Having the challenger scene become more structured will hopefully help cultivate local talent and give us more strong players like Altec, Bunny, etc. rather than needing to grab players from other regions.

I think TDK and Fusion are the frontrunners in the challenger scene. They have some pretty good support staff behind them compared to the other challenger teams.

Can't count out C9 in that race, though. Charlie is a very experienced coach (he's been to Worlds twice, don't think any other challenger teams can say that), Lemon will also probably be helping them so they'll be able to adapt to patches quicker than other challenger teams might.

Yet they both look absolutely horrid in that BO5.

They got a lot of work to do.

I think that Trance is a good replacement for gleeb for support, I was very worried about how chunky would do in top though, his champ pool is way to shallow.

I think Chunky will adapt fine. I don't think he'll be the strongest NACS top but I also don't think he'll ever be a liability to the extent Maknoon was during the expansion tournament.

Yeah I think Chunky deserves a chance at the least. Maknoon has had a lot of chances, I think he's a great personality but he couldn't even preform well in the challenger scene, which is the lowest totem pole in regards to being a pro. He looked good sometimes, but he was so inconsistent that it wasn't worth it. I would take a consistent but weaker player over a player who has higher highs but can't be relied upon any day of the week. Maybe he needs a sports psychologist to help with tilting or something, but it might be time for him to retire.

Pretty much this.

Trance is also a shot-caller, so it helps Nien focus more on his own gameplay. I think the biggest problem with Chunky in the top-lane is that he pretty much shares Huhi's champion pool, so a ban for Huhi would be a ban for Chunky. He had decent games on Irelia and Lissandra, but he needs to pick up more traditional tank-y like champions. I think one of Fusion's biggest problems in the Expansion Tournament was not being able to siege down inhibitor turrets fast enough, and part of that was because they almost never had a dedicated tank.

I think you guys are kinda being hard on chunky. Chunky is pretty much only playing mid champs top lane right now and he hasn't really had too much time to practice on the top only champs. I'd say give him a little bit of time to practice on tanks and such. The only issue I could see is sometimes in the mid to top transition people get stuck playing the mages and never really get comfortable playing tanks.
