Well written and I agree with nearly all of them. It's a good thing Gambit didn't get the biggest fall, considering how they rose back up high enough to win the latest IEM in the past month.

that's not last season.

I chose the champion with the dumbest name to remind me of hopetorture

good article ty for that, something good to read/view next to monte's thoorin's recap

I would give the biggest rise to Najin Shield. It wasn't the most spectacular rise but they slowly crept up the rankings throughout the year. And they're not a new team like Alliance and EDG, and I would argue LMQ was a new team as well.

That is a really good point! NaJin Shield should be commended for sticking with their Rookie 3 of Ggoong-Zefa-Gorilla, even though they didn't have the best debut season and lost 0-3 to Frost in the quarters. While Zefa is now on the bench, Gorilla and Ggoong are currently top two in Korea at their position.

I've missed content like this. You guys are fantastic; keep it up.

oh god, you had to remind me of that terrible name didn't you

As a fan of the original Picture of a Goose, the implosion of Vulcun/XDG made me sad.
Plus just considering my username I felt like I should post.

I'll miss the old LMQ, especially LOMO boy :<

I really don't get why new NA teams rise and fall so hard. It's pretty sad to see, but cool to have a rookie team rock the standings near every split.
|
XDG is pretty sad overall but I feel the worst for Mancloud. It's just sad to see someone who was so dominant just fall off so quickly.

It's listed under the biggest dramas, but I haven't seen anything about it. I think this was recent. Fionn Tweeted something to Dignitas owner Odee and Riot punished Fionn for it?

I'm still trying to get over ALL vs KABUM... It was an awful game...

Getting reminded of the Fnatic and Alliance games at worlds and also the fall of XDG just hurts.

Man I disagree with a lot of these :p
Rise/Fall for me are Samsung Blue and KTB. Blue rose from an OK Korean team to a team that was untouchable by everyone but White and KTA once (but even I agree that if they played this final 10 more times, KTA would only win 2 or 3). KTB fell from arguably second best to irrelevancy (barring the IEM performance I guess, but I don't think there's much doubt that at this point any major Korean team would win this).
In the toplane I just can't go with anyone else than Looper. I've watched a fair share of games where Gogoing looked just as confused as the rest of his team in the LPL, while I've been mesmerized by Looper's play ever since S3 Worlds. To me this guy had whole package - farming, trading, teamfighting, reacting to ganks, executing dives, and his TP usage was just a bonus that put him even farther ahead of any other toplaner. His efficiency is something to envy as a toplane player.
I feel that Namei was actually as instrumental for his team as Uzi for his, but I'd give the award to Deft anyway - again, his efficiency is just unreal for me. Finally when it comes to drama, I get that it's a joke award but the whole LMQ ownership hassle is worth remembering if you ask me.

I don't really know how I feel about UZI being the top ADC of the year... Sure he showed at worlds but what about the rest 11 months? It would definitely be either Deft or Namei for me.

Yeaaah I'm also not too sure about including an NA (or EU for that matter) team in the standings, considering our worlds.

This was a really good read, of course there are gonna be a lot of disagreements since most of these are arguable on which could have been a better choice. I, personally, don't know whether to disagree or agree since I just got into watching the pro scene of League in S4.

How can Moonbear be in the writer section when there is only one Chiharu in the world? HEHE
