Can you guys try to get the replays of your games? I'd like to make a list of all the replays of this tourney~

Missed 2nd game because of having to sleep -.-. Damn sleep. I guess no VODs right?
|
I'm not positive but I think fourcourtjester will be commentating the games and the vods are also up on aonempatic's own3d channel.
The games are under Guardsman bob Sivir and Guardsman bob nocturne.

Guys is it too late to sign up? I decided I'll be a sub for if you ever don't have players. Gonna go practice more Taric in the meantime.

So, after watching the two TL vs Whale, here are some of my thoughts:
TL MVP: SmashGizmo TL lead piece: ScY Whale MVP: N/A Whale lead piece: Poisonidon
- The player with the most solid play yesterday was definitely Smash. I knew you were playing a flurry of games with Jarmander but I didn't expect you to dominate top lanes both games like you did. In both games, Smash was able to literally outplay whoever Whale sent up top and net kills for TL. No jungle assistance needed. - A nod to Chrispy as well, for his always farm, never die play style. Seeing as how TL is implementing the roaming playstyle, I kinda wanted to chime in about getting a stronger bottom laner. But after watching the two games, you can't argue with results. I expected Singed to break even with Sivir and lose to Irelia but exceptionally done both games. - TL's weakest facet continues to be our jungle. ScY did fine as a jungler but managed to get caught out of position in game 1 and game 2. I'm a strong believer that counter junglling with Trundle is fine, as long as you don't try to steal their Red or Blue. Even though it never led to TL giving up a free dragon, ScY would get sandwiched between Whale's jungler and the mid champion who collapsed on ScY's position near Red or at the river near Dragon. - Numbers, I really like your roaming Taric build. Getting Shurelya's over Shroud is a smart move. If you help your team net 2+ kills early on, I'd save up for an Oracle's. As long as you don't overextend on your roaming ganks, Oracle's on Taric is a good buy early since he has great Armor and you build Aegis first. Right now, Oracle's is bought post-level 11 and usually on a tank. It's a good move but see if you can sneak in a faster Oracle's and go ward hunting at the usual spots.
Although Whale had severely poor team coord yesterday, their game 2 comp was insane. They picked Shen, Irelia, and Teemo. zzz
Oh, and if you guys do continue the roaming style, roamer + jungler should pressure top early. Pre 6 is possible but definitely by level 7-8 it needs to be done. Force the enemy top solo to back, if you can't keel him, then mow down top outer asap. The enemy's best response would be to take Drag and regroup but if they dawdle too long, 3 top can continue to push into top inner. If done early, top lane is severely weakened (thus much easier for our side to farm [can usually leave top lane to self push and have a carry run top to farm as soon as enemy top wave pushes back after our waves reach their top inner tower]) the remainder of early game. Whew, that was a little long winded, but with our previous team comp, between Jarvan and Trundle, that is plenty of AS for early tower pushing imoimo.

your analysis of my play is a little too generous. numbers let me get ahead both games with early harass top. even though his early roaming didn't net an early kill for us top, both times it put me far enough ahead on HP that I could just push their top around for the rest of laning, espicially since both times they opened light on pots (sapph + 2 on zil, dring on grag). I also think their whole team was unfamiliar with Jarman's early game burst as they were sticking around with stupid low HP a lot :p.

Then bravo to Numbers for doing his role well. I dare say his roaming Taric is a lot better than Chaox's. rofl
Alistar is the easiest roamer because he can combo so well and usually net a kill but tbh roamers need to just put lanes at an advantage where enemy hero fall behind in hp, exp, last hits, or any combination of the above. Level 1 Taric harass got you that HP advantage and you took it away from there.
Roamer's role is: 1. Put ally lanes ahead. Snag a kill, awsum. But forcing enemy champ back early is great too. Not to mention it sets up your jungler for a gank. 2. Hold empty lanes for exp and gold. In game 1, just about every time Chrispy had to back to buy (which wasn't often), Numbers would be down bot to keep Sivir at bay. Bob really had zero opportunity to get free hits on our bot outer tower. Usually you would think that Boomerang and residual Richoet damage would force Singed back before Sivir.

I found WHALE's gameplan in game 2 to be a little odd. Shen roaming just doesn't make much sense since he wants XP desperately and he's a tank who needs some farming up. Bob's jungling was really passive. Smash stayed top with 1/4 hp for like a good 2 minutes and lane was pushed and wasn't punished for it. Other than that you won't win many games if your solos are dying in 1v1 situations like game 1.

I felt like they were scrambling really hard both games to try to counterpick us and just ended up WAY outside of their comfort zone. Both those comps were really bad for how Whale likes to play and there were a lot of people playing characters they seemed uncomfy with. I guess our bans and high picks really threw them off or something.

Do you remember the pick/ban order? I'm curious to know

Did you guys discuss what your ban/picks would be if Whale went their tanky DPS comp?
|
This place is too public to discuss this kind of stuff.

game 1:
BANS WHALE: Vlad TL: NuNu + WW WHALE: Corki + Teemo TL: Alistar
PICKS TL: Jarman WHALE: Janna + Zil TL: Singed + Trundle WHALE: Sivir (hackers) + Irelia TL: Ashe + Taric WHALE: Amumu
game 2:
BANS TL: Nunu WHALE: Vlad + Zil TL: Alistar + WW WHALE: Janna
PICKS WHALE: Teemo TL: Jarman + Singed WHALE: Nocturne + Irelia TL: Taric + Ashe WHALE: Shen + Gragas TL: Trundle
Like, game 2 they didn't try to disrupt our comp at all. I suppose they wanted to bait us into that comp and try to counterpick it, but well, that didn't really work out because their whole team needed farm and they got outplayed in lanes and such.
EDIT: yea, I agree with numbers, we should probably not go too far in depth here, better to keep some trade secrets. Wish we had a private thread .

They picked Janna and Zilean? that's odd
