Well, with common sense everybody should know that BestBuy made a mistake and that they will not sell you this item at the falsely labeled price. Same thing happened to a German catalogue retailer pricing Apple Macbooks at 50 Euros a piece... I think all the people who ordered wanted to have some fun and try anyway to order it...

Let's say 20 people got $1,000 tvs for 10 bucks, that now means the company(in this case BestBuy) will have to adjust somewhere to compensate. That means everyone else has to pay more down the road whether it was their mistake or not, the honest people pay for it. To the person asking what about the thieves? People who steal have the same effect on the company, so the "honest" 10 dollar tv buyers can't be put in some holy light all of a sudden because you didn't just up and take it. ok first of all no company in its right mind would leave out a policy in its use clause in case of mistakes like this. secondly, out of all the people that bought the 10 dollar tv, more than half just did it for fun. its 10 bucks, join the party. lastly, for the people that did want the tv, they're all smart enough to know that the chances of getting it are slim to none anyway.

There would be no effect on the customer even if this did happen. BestBuy knows that if they raise prices to make up the $19800 they lost on $10 TVs, they would just lose money as customers would go to some other discount store for their needs. If such a situation did happen BestBuy would most likely have to take it as a $20K lesson. The only people that the potential $10 Tv award candidates would affect is Best Buy, not any of their customers. In fact they might make some of the money back from the people who come looking for $10 TVs and end up buying something else. Your anger is unwarranted at those who dream of cheap TVs.

I think if Best Buy could adjust prices to maximize profits, they would just do that without anything driving that. They aren't some benevolent company that's looking out for people. There is nothing wrong with taking advantage of a company's mistake.
