http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=43997 Here’s something to consider for those of you who haven’t worked in a game studio before: when you have an 8 year old game that isn’t bringing in much money anymore you don’t devote time to still patch it, try to keep on top of the endless hacks, and spend your time organizing events that are by no means cheap (BlizzCon, BWI) because you don’t care. Most of the rest of the game world thinks Blizzard is crazy to still be doing stuff for a game this old, and they’re probably right. So now, without any worry about being interpreted as an official statement, I can frankly say fuck off, a few of you really don’t know how good you have it with a company still willing to support a game this old. This is +EV imo, It's advertising. #1 all the fans who are already sold will definitely be sold more. #2 the events advertise blizzard. #3 the fact that people know they make nothing off it and seems like blizzard does it for the love is even greater sales point. It's spending some money now to make greater profits later. | ||

Off topic but, I don't know if anybody here remembers that utility you could get called 'Replays With Audio' (RWA). Came out at around patch 1.10. Anyway, Mani did a couple of them for Ret games. Back when he wasn't as good as he is now. That would make a good memory lane article in my opinion. ...and I just want those reps if anybody has them. All I can remember is that the first game was on Namja Iyagi, maybe? Can't even remember who he was playing against. | ||
