Hey all, how many people live in the Washington DC area? I've been toying with the idea of putting on an event. I don't really know anyone who's into Starcraft around here, so it would be cool to get a bunch of people together for a tournament/event. I'm going to use some of my own money for prize money, but I don't have any details yet. Also, if you know of any PC rooms in the city, let me know. Later.

I am a metro ride from DC, coming from UMD. We actually have a CSL team that meets for practice 2 days a week, and usually competitions on the weekend. Some people from the team would probably be up for a meet.

I'll probably be in the area during school breaks, but I don't know if I'll attend.

I'm 20 minutes outside DC during school breaks, and I'd be up for it. And slip, it'd be awesome if the UMD CSL team all came to play.

I'm also in the Baltimore area and wouldn't mind the drive.

I was going to recommend a place in Rockville where they actually had WCG regional qualifiers, but a quick google search revealed it's closed.

Guess that explains why I stopped getting e-mail from them.

Sounds like there's some interest. I'll start by finding a PC room to play at so people don't have to lug their shit. Maybe I can rent one out for an evening.

Theres ton in Fairfax, and near korean BBQ places, if food is appetizing as well.

In Annandale, in the Seoul Plaza, there's a pc cafe called Seoul PC $2 an hr and like a 2 min. drive from korean BBQ, as well as fuddruckers, and shit.

Thats the cheapest and nicest place that I know of near my house.

Well, if that's run by the same people, they moved locations then. The old one was at:

Cyber ConXion
1321-A Rockville Pike
Rockville, MD 20852

This one is:

X3O Gaming Center
11640 Rockville Pike
Rockville, MD 20852

So.... either way, still in Rockville, probably just what we'd be looking for.

Good call, I was looking for that thread. I posted myself a long time ago though, and it was never added, so i think the op stopped updating it.

Seoul PC sounds really good, I might stop in to check it out since it's pretty close to me. We'll have to find out where everyone is so we can figure out if a place like annandale inside the beltway, or Rockville further north would be better for people.

There's also a great sushi place near Seoul PC. =D

Shouldn't this be in BW?

A party after May AP exams would be great - if I can go.

IIRC there's a huge thread(s) with people's location by city/state/country/university.
Stuck.

I'm in the DC area and would travel to any event in Washington DC/Maryland/Northern VA.

Fairfax county here, like 20 minutes from that Seoul PC place. :D

35 minutes from X3O Gaming Center. Either one is a sure bet as long as the day works out for me.
