And he guessed IdrA. One of the questions was "Is he a sex maniac." Sorry, no way I can know that answer unless he said so on the forums.

I kicked his ass with Serapis. Apparently if you pick an obscure category and pick an even more obscure character (they created this god when trying to merge Hellenistic and Egyptian mythology in Alexandria), it's pretty easy to go 40 rounds with him. Serapis wasn't even on the list of possibles at the end.

If he means the concept of sex, then the answer is yes. If it is the practice of sex, then...No.

each answer has x options, so after 20 answers, he can discriminate between x^20 results. Probably every time he gets something wrong, he'll ask you the right answer, and update his databases. each person in his database is stored with the 20 answers associated with that person. easy peazy lemon squeezy.

It probably also "learns" by asking new questions about people who are already in the database.

I flipped a bitch when he got Lim Yo Hwan too (I can't imagine how he was able to tell him apart from any other progamer- black hair, korean, works with computers, etc.) I tried Bisu too, but it guessed JD first, and then got it right on the second try ("Is your character famed for his beauty?" being the key question).

Well, we're given 5 options but most of the time, it's probably closer to 2 options per question: Yes or No. An "I don't know" doesn't help it much when narrowing down the choices. So given 20 question, it should be able to distinguish between just over 1 000 000 characters. Also, there's no way it can be a perfect binary search tree. Like, asking "Is your character an adult male" doesn't necessarily divide the remaining options 50/50. My best guess would be that it first asks a series (maybe 4 or 5) of preprogrammed questions that are pretty much guaranteed to narrow it down to an acceptable range. Then, within the remaining options, it picks questions that are closest to dividing them 50/50. A lot of potential for clever database and search algorithms.
