Trump,Musk, noone is immune to losing his mind from using twitter. It is kinda remarkable when you think about it,why are people in function (corporate or government) still allowed to use twitter. It should be a job requirement. Thy should not use twitter. Also its selection bias. You hear about the few having a meltdown and not the many without twitter or who purely use it for business.

A mix of the platform becoming so ubiquitous and powerful, and the character limit forcing people to make simple, bold statements that lack context. It's both the easiest way to say horrible things to people you don't like and its immediacy promotes a lack of forethought. Plus, a lot of people mistakenly thinking that all publicity is good publicity when in actuality a lot of bad publicity can cost you your job in most circumstances.

What did Musk (I’m assuming Elon) say on twitter? I follow him and haven’t seen any of the like. Not anything remotely close to the aggregous things the POTUS says anyways.

Not anything remotely close to the aggregous things the POTUS says anyways. It's impossible to be remotely close to the aggregous things Trump says even if you tried. That said Musk's bout with the diver was stupid, and his lack of forethought (presumably brought out by genuine excitement) just caused him and Tesla 10 million dollars each as well as his position on the board. Twitter is dangerous, and if you ever find yourself representing multi billion dollar companies then you better damn well at the very least hire some PR people to run it with you.

He probably wouldn't, but he'd get into a fight with them the second they said something slightly critical of them. Trump's a nasty, racist arsehole, but I think he tends to stay away from LGBT style slurs and paedophilia accusations. Can't remember any off the top of my head (which admittedly isn't saying much; I'm not reserving much space to remember the sludge Trump calls 'the best words')

1. Who do you expect to win the 2020 democrat primary? 2. Who, if you could choose, would you appoint as the 2020 democrat candidate?

A lot of people I know from outside MA say Warren, but folks inside MA are like “god, please don’t nominate anyone from this state.” Personally, I just want a democrat in the White House to stop all of these terrible things Trump has done. Controlling the house is far more important in the long run.

Cooker, Harris and Warren are all boring as fuck and have almost no following compared to Bernie. Kicking Bernie's operation into overdrive is a hell of a lot easier than convincing people to give a shit about anyone else. I also think that if Bernie runs, there will be extreme pressure for centrists like Booker to get the fuck out. I would be super fucking disappointed if Booker tried to defeat Bernie.

Bernie is just too old for me at this point. Maybe if he put in a really solid VP I could be okay with it, but at that age I worry if he will last

Perhaps I have been given more opportunity to see this kind of stuff after hanging out in academia for a while. Emeritus professors push through a lot of bullshit and remain competitive. The trick is having purpose.
