Their lack of interest is shocking. How can a marriage function if there isn't even enough trust for the man to need to keep the woman within a 10 foot radius of him 24/7? Facetiousness is a powerful rhetorical device but I’d argue shouldn’t be employed 100% of the time Let me treat these claims with more seriousness than they deserve then and I think you'll agree the pithy way was better: How does a liberal stoop to calling a spouse a gold digger? How does a progressive's view of "her body, her choice" end when it comes to the political opposition not sleeping where she's supposed to? Why does tolerance for two consenting adults always immediately disappear when they've got red ties? Why am I supposed to believe this concern trolling about Melania not being close enough to a person this thread gaslights me into thinking is a maniacal serial rapist Hitler? All due respect to First Ladies like Hillary, Michele, and Jill, people do not elect the First Lady, they elect the president to do a job, regardless of their spouse, their spouse can do whatever the fuck they want to do or not want to do including be part of raising a family which they have a child together named Barron. Melania was a great First Lady, despite the claims of my esteemed colleagues of her being a gold digger or mail order bride and all the other tolerance she endured. They aren't divorcing anytime soon. However, they could theoretically divorce tomorrow and it would not be a national emergency or matter at all, because, see above. You are completely missing the point being made. It is not about fidelity. It is: "Not even Trumps wife can stand being around him." This, my point was clearly fidelity is not important. But generally speaking if you are going to have a trophy wife to show how awesome you are they need to be around, and listen to you. You look like a bitch if you wife does not even bother to show up to things and choose to live far away from you. It is just another example of how beta Trump is. A true Alpha would reign that shit in yesterday. Why do all these alphas follow such a weakling?
Hope I nailed the lingo so it makes more sense.

Cheating on your wife that you have 3 kids with. And a bit of grift with political money.
Maybe I am old fashioned but I think moral fiber is almost more important for politicians then pure qualifications. Seems exactly who Trump would pick, based solely on ethics. Elon Musk fits well too. It really shows that hard core American Christians care a lot more about what people say than what actions they take. Martin Luther King Jr didn’t restrict his sex life to the confines of his marriage, I’d still consider him on balance a rather admirable, impactful figure
Sure. I probably still wouldn't have voted for him in an election because of it though.
I personally think that's a problem with politics in many (most, probably) countries. We excuse people for moral "indiscretions" far to easily. In a certain way it makes sense because you vote for the people you think can best enact the changes you want. On another level it's stupid. Because even if impactful those changes are perhaps 1% of the person's job at best. If you were to hire someone to do some basic work for you would almost always choose the moral person because you trust them. But in politics it doesn't seem to matter at all.

Political positions require political morals. You’re not hiring someone to stick up some dry wall, or repair your PC. You’ve giving them a moral mandate

In a hypothetical scenario, with a guy who tbf wasn’t really a guy who realistically wasn’t an electible politicians anyway despite post-hoc sanitisation, you’d honestly discount MLK because he banged around a bit?

Matt Gaetz as AG seems like it's going to be one of the early tests of loyalty for the Senate.
The congressman remains under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for sexual misconduct, with the bipartisan committee saying in a rare statement in June that some of the allegations against Gaetz “merit continued review.”
Being probed are allegations that Gaetz may have “engaged in sexual misconduct and illicit drug use, accepted improper gifts, dispensed special privileges and favors to individuals with whom he had a personal relationship, and sought to obstruct government investigations of his conduct,” the committee said at the time.
Gaetz has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, including ever having sex with a minor or paying for sex.
Here's a list of what Trump's cabinet+ is looking like so far

Even compared to his first term, it seems almost entirely cronies and toadies

Is there anyone on team Trump that actually delivers on the whole "Traditional american Family" Bullshit?
Married Migrants, married 3 times, cheating..cheating.Cheaaaating...aaaand cheating with a porn star.
Why do they propel the whole "moral standard" when all they do is fuck around?

Matt Gaetz being selected as Attorney General brings the entire Republican dog whistling about human trafficking full circle.

I feel bad forgetting their alias here, but its on the tip of my tongue. Many of you will remember them. Trans woman who worked remotely but lived in Texas. Worked for a tech company that allowed her to move abroad to escape trans persecution in the US.
Lots of people here said they were being a bit extreme by straight up leaving the country. Matt Gaetz as AG is a chilling situation, but it sure did prove them right. They were right to leave when they did. If I was trans or had a kid who is trans, I would be incredibly nervous right now.
We already know Trump is going to combine the red state national guards to force adherence to immigration policy. Its probably gonna apply to other stuff as well. Don't want to provide a full list of trans people in your state? Ok, say goodbye to all federal funding. And after a month the national guard is showing up regardless.
I think this is the point where "actual panic" is justified. The national guard stuff and Matt Gaetz AG is the real deal. Man.

On the other hand I do know about it and he did great and amazing things, he is human and we all have failings. But I'm also not a fire and brimstone Christian who thinks sinners should go to hell.
For me if I found out the leader of the green party was burning all their plastic in a burning bin, I would not vote for them. And I would do everything in my power to have them removed as leader of the party. MAGA seem quick to judge everyone harshly (he was Epstein's best friend for 10 years FFS) but have a million apologies for their dear leader.

The motto for the city the new SOD comes from is "as good as it sounds". The towns name is Forrest lake, and its peak strode sprawl bulllshit. Its got a banger beach though so you can't hate it that much.

The MAGA crowd just don’t care about such stuff, remotely. Demonstrably. Over and over again.
I’ve personally never really cared all that much unless someone is campaigning on a say, a ‘monogamy will save the nation’ platform. If Bernie Sanders was flinging his cock around as liberally as his frankly centre-left platform by European standards, I don’t really care

They’re not (generally) voting for Trump on the basis of the belief that he’s personally a great Christian or not, but what he can do for their sensibilities
Youve got a cohort of insane people who think he’s a great exemplar of Christian values, but I think more broadly it’s transactional

It makes more sense if you remember just how much the average American Christian hates Christianity, or at least the kind embodied by Christ. They hate sharing, humility, forgiving, foreigners, people from the Middle East, and pacifism. They love money, judging people, weapons, the death penalty, and deciding who is going to heaven on behalf of God.
It’s easy to see why they love Trump despite him being about as far as you can get from Christ. They’re about as far as you can get from Christianity. It’s all perfectly consistent.
