Could you point out all of the terrorist attacks that were made in the name of video games? Islam is not just an influence that prompts these people to kill others. Islam is the reason why they do this, without Islam these attacks would not take place. Sure its possible that even if Islam didnt exist, these people could be radical members of some other religion doing similar attacks, but what is not possible that these attacks would be done if these people were not members of any religion.

I'm usually kind of a religion hater, but I don't understand the "fuck all religions" reaction of some people as a reaction of attacks like this. Isn't it pretty clear, from history, that people can kill and make terrorists attacks with a basis other than religion (political ideologies or nationalism, for instance) ? Then why should you call out all religions for the acts of a really small minority of people? By that reasoning, you should also call out all political ideologies and nationalist feelings. Would be beyond idiotic to pretend the fire is lit up with sacred texts alone. For Paris, you have people running through the most visited city in the world with kalachnikov and killing everyone for no reasons. Young kids from britain died, people from the US. The restaurant attacked was called "the little cambodgia"... The brutality of the event itself, the weapon of choice (gun and not bombs) and the place all have specific impact on the way media portrait the attack. i won't disagree with you but i'll file this under the expected bias scenario; things being close to home and France being France. also, your chosen example(for the comparison) plays into your argument. Yes France is France, but even in France the bombing attacks never had the same impact. I know because I was there in 1995 during the bombing attack in the subway and they didn't create the same international outrage.
now you're getting into the second part of my statement - economical agendas. the bombing in 1995 was carried out by an algerian demanding that France would stop aiding Algerian military rulers; but France can't do that because it has economical interests there so they downplayed it in media. the perception of international outrage is given by the medias.
edit: the economical agenda as of now = more refugees are good for the economy and it's how this tragedy is spun(?)/spinned/seen now in the media - refugees are good, we need more of them, look at what they have to deal with day in and day out.

@farvacola, people are free to believe in anything they want.
But when they are trying to live their daily lives by laws imposed by a 2k-year old weakly interpreted holy book, which openly opposes the modern dayview, well.. in most cases it creates a fucking problem. But as long as others can profit from it, they won't close a cult following.
And when people say it's not religion to blame for terror: it's the game of numbers. People can do horribly things all the same for any kind of idealogy, yeah. But when they believe they'll go STRAIGHT TO PARADISE after killing other people and suiciding themselves in order to get there as fast as possible, well... it's the well-known scientific fact that the fear of the severe punishment and death is the last restraining belt when it comes for individ to evaluating the consequences of his actions.
There's another side of a coin too: if the Western countries didn't invade the East in the past, Islamic warriors won't be that agressive. Because for every atrocious act, there is a strong financial support. And we can't break it without touching the religion those people have been raised on, it's a vicious cycle.

You probably condemn the terrorist attacks on Paris. Why? When you learned of them, did you start a day-long, elaborate philosophical reasoning to determine if they were right or wrong? No. You immediatly thought something along the lines of "they have no right to do this, they have no right to kill innocent people because these innocent people aren't like them".
Why did you condemn them, then, if you didn't have a 100% rational, reasoned, reaction? Because you most likely believe in Tolerance, in Humanism, in the Human Rights. Yes, that's not a god. Yes, that's still a belief, something that isn't rational.
