what if we developed a new form of exams. instead of having to test knowledge on things you should already know and have studied, etc. you could instead test the kid on using that knowledge to learn something new during the exams. I think this would work best if you impleneted it in later levels of teaching (high school+). for example, in a history class, instead of asking questions that are answered in parts of the text-book you were supposed to read / lectures, why don't you ask questions that would draw on your knowledge ot have to figure something out? this is already present in french exams in quebec where you don't know the topic of your essay until you sit down, and you have like 4 hrs to figure it out in math for example, you could, based on knowledge of algebra, figure out a new concept of geometric analysis, and the entire exam could be based on teaching you that subject. basically it would test your knowledge of your stuff / your ability to figure stuff out on your own rather than just pure knowledge and drilling | ||
