When I first started smoking regularly over a month ago I used to bug out and get weird feelings. Then that subsided and I smoked every day with a friend of mine and felt fine. Then on his last day home before he went back to college we smoked a shitton of very good weed in his house. Unfortunately his parents came home and smelled it and then yelled at him. I was forced to leave so I got in my car and started driving home. I immediately felt weird. Sweaty hands, shallow breathing, tunnel vision. Then my heart started racing. I got out of the car and walked around for a while. I thought I was going to die but I resisted the temptation to call for help. It eventually subsided when the weed wore off. The next night I smoked 2 bowls by myself outside at home while my parents were sleeping. I had a major panic attack and was pacing around my basement going insane. The next day I biked in the morning and brought along a one-hitter. At this point I'm getting scared of smoking but I felt like I could handle a small amount. I, unfortunately was wrong and got a mild panic attack. Then I tried it again with the one hitter and got a panic attack. Then I came to the conclusion that I needed to be with someone when I smoked so I called a friend who actually had never smoked before and I smoked 2 bowls with him. Had another panic attack. This really fucking sucks. I am a high anxiety person to begin with but weed was really helping me out for a while until now. My mom's mother used to have panic attacks so it runs in the family. Anyway, I'm quite upset because I've really loved weed up until now. I decided I'll take a little break and try again but if I get panic attacks I'll have to just give up the wonderful herb. We had a good ride even if it was short... | ||

It was really helpful for me to start to explore why I was getting the panic attacks (and all the other things I learnt while high). Things'll eventually all start to make sense to you, and you can develop techniques for making anxiety work for you (rather than the other way around), at which point you can make a decision about whether or not you want to start smoking again. Easy for breezy. | ||
