Every single time in the last couple of years, when there was a terror attack, i tried to be objective, arguing against "jumping to conclusions". That's pretty well documented on TL as well, if you look through older threads. Immediately stating "islamic terror!" actually is more often than not the correct answer. I still think Trump and his rhetoric are retarded, but at some point a line is crossed. Every politician who says "these are isolated incidents" should be forced at gunpoint to tell that to the parents of the kids who got blown up today by a device designed to kill, maim and injure as many people as possible. I'm so, so sick of it. edit: and by the looks, we actually got lucky. Now is not the time to push your agenda.

We had a bunch of people yelling "islamic terror!" about a car crash in NYC. But it turned out to be a moron with a car. And then there was that German officer that was creating a false refugee identity to commit a terror attack. This could be exactly what you say. But no one will be any worse of if we just wait until we know for sure.

I don't give a fucking damn https://www.facebook.com/safetycheck/manchester-united-kingdom-explosion-may22-2017/ No idea how old your girl is, but there's multiple hotels taking in "youths", so might wanna give them a ring. Apart from that, not sure that browsing forums where this obviously will get discussed is a smart thing to do.

And yes, thank god it only was a clothing bag or something. One thing that really is shocking is the amount of fuckwits spreading actual malicious rumours. Like the alleged gunman at Oldman Hospital, including a fake screenshot of tweets of people stating they locked themselves in because of that gunman (i assume that's from 2013 when there actually was a gunman) etc. It's absolutely disgusting.

Honestly, the one thing i'd do is contact her parents, drive over, and sit it out. If they're british, dunno if your gf is german as well, skype call. I certainly wouldn't sit at home by myself. That's the last thing i would (or you should) do. Fuck work/school tomorrow, i don't think any employer would make a hassle if he knew that you were awake all night because you didn't hear of your girlfriend after this.

Please excuse my outburst tonight. This was a situation I didn't expect to stumble in and I certainly didn't handle it well. I'm physically and emotionally totally spent now.

That is your agenda is it not. You spelt it out word for word. For you, it's an instant opportunity to trot out some sort of political point. For me, just like 7/7, it is a waiting game. See who I know was caught up this time. See if I know someone who died, or if a colleague knows someone who died. Do you see the difference? yes it's probably an islamic terrorist incident. It doesn't fit the IRA. Fuck, even those who share your opinion in England wait a day or two, because get this, people has died and we may know them. Minutes after is not the time to speculate or score cheap political points on TL .
