I have the feeling, that some guys only read the first and last post. There are no tripods in the original video. They were edited in. The guy even writes that in his video description.

The areas that are affected are extremely small. Like maybe 200-1000 people live in those areas at most. Plus, most people would just say, oh its just faked, I can create the exact same sound with media software. Which is true, but people call the police, and the police themselves have confirmed these sounds(why else would they bring in government officials to measure things?) And if this is viral marketing it is possibly the most realistic advertisements ever, calling the police and getting government officials and news stations to report a fake sound and everyone in the area is in on it? If these sounds are real, and still marketings, how the hell can they create these sounds in several areas of the world, with no source of the sound found. Must have the budget of Avatar I guess.

He looks similar but I can't really tell with the low resolution photo.

He appears to be the same guy as the one mentioned in the article, where his name was given as Al Maghnieh. http://www.windsorstar.com/Mystery gains another believer/5251125/story.html

For me it's an unexplained phenomenon like others (there are thousands, science can't do all at one !). But, the problem is that in majority's minds, unexplained = strange, which is wrong (but it's normal to think this way, it's how we're made).
