Someone tell the army to start some reactor Starports.
Blizzard is known for copying wow...Go watch Aliens 2 and play the original starcraft and you will see they basically copied the entire game off that movie.
more like star ship troopers which coincidentally was released the exact same year as BW.
lol the fact that they were released in the same year is evidence of them not copying
the book was written decades ago. and what the fuck? Hollywood is known for making copycat movies and releasing them almost simultaneously. Look at the recent movies this year, friends with benefits and then; no strings attached. Deep impact, armageddon. the list goes on...
Hollywood did not make sc1

Blizzard starting sc1 development in 1995 so that would make no sense.

From 0:52 to about 1:00 you can see this wierd tripod thing appear out of nowhere right? Seems pretty obvious to just be a marketing video or such.
you can even see the tripod on the left from 0.42 to 0.45

yea notice how crappy the alpha looks in screenshots until they totally redid it years later. and like I said before, the book was written well before sc production. Why are you trying to argue this so hard? Its pretty well known that blizzard 'borrowed' tons of ideas when they make games and especially from movies and most especially aliens and starship troopers. Even look at the 'pissed' quotes of everything you click on. Its all related to movies and tv shows.
also iirc SST had bug race, humans, as well as the smart 'greys' in the original book. I know for sure it did in the animated tv show.

I don't understand why people are focusing on the fake Ukrainian ones instead of the Windsor and similar ones either, choosing to spam "jokes" instead. That was a lie. I understand it perfectly. I just think that it has no place in this thread. Sadly the relevant powers disagree.

i dont want to frustrate you, but get some friends, make a video, edit it as you wish, put it on youtube, get a website online which describes the "phenomenon", make your friends the "witnesses", and you're set.
my sister once made a crop circle (kornkreis) with her high scholl class, they met at night in a field, made a real nice crop circle, and the next day RTL and SAT1 visited the place and everyone was talking about "aliens" and stuff thats how these things work.

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Bet it's like a marketing campaign for a new brand of coffee or something.
It's kind of intriguing to me how there are so many people on TL who jumps to the alien conclusion every time a cloud has a funny shape or the neighbour's playing the trombone ^^
Sounds a bit like a whale, and I don't think this can really be caused by any construction. Construction tends to be filled with grinding and the high pitched whirring of motors and drills. This deep sound that seems to vibrate through the earth is the last thing I'd expect from construction.

Games Workshop made Warhammer 40000 in 1987, and I believe it has been said many, many times before that it was the inspiration for Orcs (Orks), Terran (Space Marines), Protoss (Eldar/Dark Eldar), Zerg (Tyranids).

or do it right and play warhammer 40k table top game ... since sc1 was supposed to use the warhammer 40k franchise ... but they got problems (and lost the license) and thus they changed the names a little.

Wait. So the ones in the Ukraine were fake?

Plz stop trolling. If you're not trolling, read the posts regarding this "tripod" video.

So what you're saying is, because it could be fake, it has to be fake?
