they have personality

i mean watching bruce dickinson run around on stage for 3 hours, or seeing Nicko's facial expressions while he's drumming is a huge part of their appeal

their shows are FUN, and their music is GREAT

i cant say people posing with axes and swords with various tools and appliances stapled to their leather is attractive in any respect

go listen to jazz/blues/classical or something ok? maybe you'll find out there's more to good taste than someone in a viking hat and plate mail playing a guitar solo with a hammer while assfucking a dead horse

i agree. sometimes appealing to popularity is a valid argument, whether or not you want to admit it.
iron maiden are gods of metal, if you asked any metal/black metal/hard rock or whatever other deviant, they would acknowledge maiden as an influence.
