Casiopea is one of my favorite jazz fusion bands of all time. So fresh. I just recently saw the One-Ups. Really cool jazz versions of VG songs. | ||

One of my favorite modern piano players is Brad Mehldau. His trio is so killing. It's the traditional piano trio set-up but with a really modern repertoire and style. Radiohead tune Knives Out Here's him playing the standard of all standards "All the Things You Are", in 7/4! Sound could be better on those videos but it's worth it to see them play. Another guy that is super killing is Robert Glasper. He is as much a jazz musician as he is a hip-hop musician. He plays with guys like Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, Q-Tip and other "altenative" hip-hop artists. If you're into hip-hop definitely check out his stuff. Here's a video (with good sound) of him playing some more free form stuff with his trio. This tune kicks ass. Maiden Voyage (Herbie Hancock) mixed with Everything in its Right Place (Radiohead) | ||
