U.S. gymnast Jordyn Wieber cries after she failed to qualify for the women's all-around finals during the Artistic Gymnastics women's qualification at the 2012 Summer Olympics on July 29, 2012, in London. To this. Gymnast Jordyn Wieber stands on the podium after her American team wins Gold in the 2012 Olympic Team Gymnastics competition. What two days can change.

I found this image very thought provoking. How about you share these thoughts, then? Generally speaking, it'd be nice if people here at least say something about the pictures, and if it's not obvious, explain why it belongs in this thread/why it's thought provoking.

+ Show Spoiler + a painting depicting the battle of Waterloo. Perhaps the largest battle of the musket and cavalry era of warfare. This painting depicts Napoleon's failed cavalry charge against British infantry squares. A costly mistake that contributed to Napoleon's loss of the battle.

Where the hell do you find these pictures? Some have had me well up.. I wish I had something less depressing to post but his photo had a profound effect on me. The guy who took it, Kevin Carter committed suicide 3 months after. How did you look through the entire of the thread and then post this? Its been re-posted quite a few times, its peoples go to picture. But yeah there's some pretty deep stuff in here the one of them throwing dead children around got me. If it's already in the thread, I didn't see it, looked at the whole thread over the space of 3/4 trawling sessions so I may have missed it. Since I have already posted a pic previously listed here's one of good auld Portadown my home town. Famous for its churches and citrus fruit... probably doesn't mean much to most people but shit got rough here for a while when I was a kid. Photos like this really just remind me of how terrible it was.

It's like seeing a tank on a trailer bed. It's not broken down, it's far too inefficient to drive it long distances due to the maintenance and gasoline requirements. Although I guess that does mean it invokes a thousand words since everyone sees something different. I took a few minutes to look around and it seems to originate from this conspiracy theory oriented blog. The blog (and several other sites) claim it and several other military vehicles were being shuttled through a small town named Winchester in northern Kentucky. The photographs are claimed to be taken on I-75 so if anyone really cared they could just crawl down google maps until they can verify the places in the background. Anyway it seems to be an ordinary transfer of military/government vehicles. While those vehicles look rather evil, here's the government actually doing evil Kent State, 1970 + Show Spoiler + My aunt was at the protest and my mother was on campus o_o
