Temperature is based upon energy, as everyone knows... what some folks don't know (including the person who made that image) is that you need energy to simply melt ice as such energy added to ice melts it and doesn't actually warm it up until all the ice is gone. This is why a glass of ice water is considered "ice cold" because it isn't going to go above 0C until the ice is gone (assuming that it is properly mixed at all times). The second image makes it more complicated than it needs to be. By nature liquid must exist as a liquid and a solid at the freezing point. Freezing point means that changing quantities of energy is causing a change of state instead of a change in temperature. + Show Spoiler + I wonder if the proportion of ice/water is what was meant by "compounds", or whatever is added to pure water. I must say, looking at that image again ( I did not make it) and reading your comments, it would be funnier if the explanation were more accurate, and surfusion should be mentioned as well. I'm not very proficient in image-making, feel free to do it if you wish. ![]() ![]() User was warned for this post

why is a suffering animal even funny? It's not funny, but you should know it's already dead. ![]()

![]() + Show Spoiler + When Steven Spielberg re-released the movie ET in 2002, he thought that the shotguns were too "violent" for a children's movie and replaced them with walkie-talkies.
