![]() Anyways, I think the majority of studies will tell you it's all about the same. Unfiltered smokers smoke less/take smaller "drags"/etc. in general than filtered smokers, regular filtered smokers smoke less/""/"" in general than "light" cigarette smokers, etc.

LoLZ, you meant about the quality of headrushes, well, go for the pot, dont bother thinkin about cigs cause its real fucked up a) its hard to stop when youre sick of it b) waste of money c) ETC Manner yo~

For those suggesting that he just smoke weed, you have to realize that's a completely different thing. Sometimes I feel like a little buzz to ease my nerves, but I don't feel like the long high or morning grogginess associated with weed. It's like if someone wanted a cookie and you told him to eat a hamburger or somethign instead. He wants a cookie, not a hamburger, dude ![]() Oh, I just bought my first pack of cloves. They taste crazy good, but they're really long and cancer-filled. Sometimes I feel a little sick for a few minutes after just one.

And all i have to say is just stop right now. It will only escalate from their. You will regret it if you don't stop right now. I smoked for over a year, closer to two and I finally quit last fall. It sucked. Tips for anyone here trying to kick it, i figured out- Don't tell people 'I'm trying to quit' say I quit Label yourself a non-smoker, not a smoker on the wagon. I took like 3 advil a day for the first week. It helped cut the physical discomfort by a third. Head aches, general full-body ickyness feeling. Though the cravings are just as strong. Identify hobbies and activities where time flies for you. When craving for a fag, your perception of time is greatly skewed as proven in tests. Time skewing is also one of the, if not most, effective torture techniques used today. Do activities where you feel time flies in an attempt to equalize this effect. This effect is probably the only reason for addiction to cigs. As its torture to go without. For me playing billards, cooking, watching movies from my personal top 3 list, jogging and sleep makes time fly for me. I engaged in thoose the greater part of the day for the first week of quiting. Identify situtations where you tend to smoke more and avoid them for a while. When out on weekends playing cards, or at a bar, i would smoke one after the other. I passed on that for a few weekends. When ever I drove around i wanted to smoke. I kept driving to a minimum. Avoid friends who smoke for a while. Nothing worse than seeing them lite up a yummy cigg. Using those techniques i had a real easy time kicking it.

Sickoflife: If they do nothing (I don't know that they don't) what is all that yellow crap that accumulates on used cigarette filters? Is that not toxic? I think amnesty's post was pretty useful if you really want to quit, but who cares at this point? Over 70% of cigarette related fatalities occur in people over 65 I read yesterday. Cigarettes are too tasty to quit using until I'm a little older. :7

Well, why not just stop right now and never smoke again. If you could not make that decision right now without hesitation, then you are addicted. It took me abvout 6-8 months before I came to that realization myself. Everybody likes to think that it isn't them and that they will not get addicted. Well, it does happen and it has already happened to you.

Why is it whenever someone says that smoking is disgusting, someone assumes that they have A) never tried smoking, B) are younger than they are, and C) have never been around smoking, if they haven't smoked? I can't stand smoking, it tastes like shit. I hate the smell of it, too. My parents both smoke like chimneys, and I hate every second of it, and what it does to the smell of my clothes. The effects on the health of them, or myself mean little to me, but it's the smell I hate. Secondly, I don't have any articles for the filter thing. I was told that in a class I took in school, by a teacher, and he had some paper, which I no longer have. I did, however, search google a bit for something, and found some stuff about them putting nicotine on the filters, and wrappers, and paper of the cigarette to get more nicotine into your body, and thus get a smoker addicted even more. I don't even understand the addiction. People say, "Oh, I can't live without it." Then I say, "You're weak minded, the cigarette has no physical addiction to it." They then say, "Oh yes it does! Otherwise I'd quit!" When the truth of the matter is the smoker doesn't want to quit, or if they do they are too weak minded to. I'm getting off topic, though, so I'll stop.

correct to some extent. the correction to that statement is the following; if u want to quit but can't then u are an 'utter moron' for not having the intelligence to find a formula that will get u to quit. i mean its not rocket science. and yes it is a matter of 'weak mind' nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you to buy or bum smokes. this behaviour is a choice, yes if u been smoking for some time it may be hard (u may give in at first) but ultimately it is just lack of self control. this is kind of like fat people. aside from rare occurences of gene factor (which is probably super super rare in smokers, being fat is an issue of poor nutrition / along with lack of exercise. its ur fault that u dont have the brains to eat properly / or exercise. blaming 'addiction' is just a fall back so u give urself an excuse to continue this behaviour. any intelligent person who wants to quit smoking or lose weight can do it, this isnt some complicated math problem. (the 'quitting guilds' as they call them are for the stupid people who are too stupid to figure out what they need to do themselves) there is my psychological evaluation. feel free to consult me for advice -_-
