Well he "has a traditional birth certificate, written on goat skin by his father." wich cast alot of doubt about when he was actually born. Also the things mentioned in his career is suspicious. He managed to join the British colonial forces when he was 44years old. Seems unlikely at best. Then he went on to work as a police officer when he turned 63. I'd say he was born in the 20s or so.

Edit : On a side note : its well known that in many countries of arica people dont know exactly how old they are. There are for eq many cheating cases about ages in football (soccer) clubs ( the guy says he's 22 and is very good , to enter in a good club , whereas he's near 30).
