Do you know guys that go out, get drunk and sleep with random girls? I certainly do. Lucky for them they don't have to worry about getting pregnant. I found this incredibly sad, she's obviously aware that she was foolish and that she made a mistake but considering the other choices she might have made when she found out she was pregnant, she chose to do something really monumental. I won't condone her earlier actions but I will admire her for not choosing an easy way out and, from what she says, for trying not to make any other mistakes and also for having the strength to admit what she did publicly. Her friends, her family, everyone she knows... will see this. It's the kind of video that's going to appeal to the media, will probably spread like wildfire and spark angry debates about sexual promiscuity, contraception, the evils of alcohol, morals, parental responsibility and a load more topics people feel strongly about one way or the other. She's put herself out there to be judged by everyone who watches for an extremely slim chance that the guy who slept with her will see the video and that he might actually be a decent enough person to care that he has a son. Read some of the comments on both the youtube video and the guestbook on her website. Nice to see the support, sadly expected to see the 4chan mentality and the accusations of her being a total whore and worse. The internet never fails to deliver. She doesn't come across as being generally stupid in the literal sense, you can hear the sadness and regret clearly in her voice when she speaks about the guy she slept with but when she looks at the baby, there's absolute and total love for him in her voice, her smile and her body language. It takes two people to make a baby, no one can change how it happened but she's going to spend the rest of her life raising, caring for, worrying about and hopefully continuing to love the child. I'm aware that I'm taking her side in this and that there might be a whole load more to the story than she's said but considering what she stands to gain or lose from doing this, I don't see anything particularly terrible as a motivation for doing this. She seems quite sincere but yes, it could be possible that she's come up with a method of telling a story that'll make headlines, give her brief but potentially profitable celebrity status and we'll have to see what happens next then forum rant accordingly. I hope this video does get a lot of publicity, not only for her as I'd like to believe she's genuine, she finds the father and he's a decent guy but also as something to make people stop and think before they get drunk and have casual unprotected sex with a stranger. An unexpected baby might not be such a bad thing when you consider what else you might end up with. | ||

Unlikely but still possible, nearly all methods of birth control have failure rates and the thing that strikes me is that she says she doesn't remember what happened after she had drinks with the guy. Wouldn't it be fucking ironic if she was so hopefully seeking the father of her child and the actuality of what happened was something hideous. I seriously pray that's not the case but this world and the people in it can be messed up to the point of disbelief sometimes and that's unfortunately something not beyond the realms of possiblity. Not that long ago and still in a lot of places today, there is an expectation or even an obligation for a guy to stand by a girl if he gets her pregnant. As I said before, I agree that she's been foolish and that she made a mistake but the guy concerned could be equally guilty of doing exactly the same. A lesser woman might have chosen abortion and never said a word to anyone about what she'd done, no one would ever have known or able to judge her for it. A lot of people make mistakes and today, a lot of people have casual sex without considering the possible consequences. Some men might be glad not to know about this type of outcome to a one nighter, others wouldn't feel like that at all and would want to share in the responsibility and I'm sure there are a few who wouldn't know what the hell to do but would definitely prefer to be told what had happened. She doesn't know the guy but she thinks he has the right to know so he can make his own decisions about what he wants to do and she's trying to give him that chance. All things considered, she's trying her best to do what's right and I hope it turns out well for her. | ||
