Not really a fan of any of his maps other than V is for, and his attitude towards other mappers seemed pretty shitty at times. Not a mapper I would miss. (He will be back no doubt though, it always happens after rants like this.) | ||

I think I saw something about the peppy comments but I can't remember what they were. Something about pronouns and being annoyed at being asked to use one. I can't really comment on that. | ||

Literally not discussed aside from the "hey i am trans" description on the info boxes under the stream that was being discussed, which is kinda necessary when you are on webcam and mic. When you say stuff like that, claim to be above the rules (even if he runs the game, the "I can do whatever the fuck i want" attitude is wrong) and threatening to ban people for criticizing him (not in an aggressive way, even) That's way beyond crossing the line. | ||

In that case peppy does seem to be unnecessarily rude about it, but I don't think what he said has to be taken as some kind of hate speech against trans people. The way I read it is that he doesn't like being told about it, the same way a lot of people don't like it if someone puts that they're a 'girl gamer' in their stream description. He could have just left it alone though and that would be the more sensible choice. It is his game, he made it mostly by himself, and there are alternatives. I don't think it's a good idea for peppy to breach his own rules, but he can set whatever rules he wants. I think he is actually reasonably flexible in cases where he probably doesn't want to be as well (OWC letting in rule breakers if they had a year of good behaviour for example). I do think that having peppy be willing to speak openly about his opinions is a good thing, things like this. Not that people shouldn't be able to disagree with him of course. | ||

The clusterfuck is normally people whining about the bans and kicking up a fuss even though they broke the rules, or thinking that the punishment is disproportionate to what they did while not thinking about the fact that previous offences will make for less leniency. There are a lot of people like that, but there's also a lot of clusterfucking for no reason. The way I read it is that he doesn't like being told about it, the same way a lot of people don't like it if someone puts that they're a 'girl gamer' in their stream description. It's actually relevant in this case because a huge fraction of the stream chat, reddit comments etc are specifically asking about it because the person in question doesn't pass particularly amazing yet, especially with voice (live Q&A + mapping discussion) Peppy goes out of his way to regularly make comments like that and the mod team is worse. | ||
