I don't understand how you people could say the graphics are suffering from "warcraft syndrome". I don't think the graphics are at all childish or cartoony. On the contrary, I think that the graphics pay true homage to diablo 2, by not changing the looks of the creatures (especially the goat-men), and adding true gore effects that the graphics engine of the previous games could not handle. As for only having 5 classes, I'm sure they'll add two or more in an expansion just like LoD. Anyway, those are my two cents.

I'm more excited about this, as is, than starcraft 2 at the moment. I think that Diablo 3 will be an extraordinary advancement in the franchise, by upgrading the two things that made Diablo 2 less than perfect - having to rely on potions and only being able to cast two spells at once without having to change them. In one of the screenshots there's a picture of a fucking rainbow in the background. Does that sound like d3 to you? Anyways, I think they could use a little less vibrant colors and a little more gloom, but maybe not as much as some of the pictures w/ some filters on it I've seen.

What are you smoking? Bright neon colors, bright cartoony textures, models that look straight out of wow, even the damn blue glow on the axe is straight out of warcraft 3. They could've put unicorns in there and they wouldn't look out of place.

damn you Blizzard hype machine!!! edit: Scariest monsters for me were the rat fetishes (hit so fast, then stunlock, then explode on death), goatmen (their hits HURT in hell), and the Smith (curse was fking scary when it takes 1/2 your health)

Lol i should have phrased that to make it sound less like child abuse. Anyway, rat fetishes were fucking scary, christ! But they were more like 'oh shit im gona die'; and ps seeing as they appeared in andariel's lair first under whatever name, I guess they count more as hers anyway. That whole way to get to andariel was just gruelling too. Once I got to durance I was cruising with bone spear anyway and found it pretty undaunting (though i was a summon nec first ever time through so i was going around in a security blanket of skellies). But man you gota admit tristram was pretty daunting the first time you went? I remember shaking and being like OMG THIS IS WHATS REMAINSS OFS PROUDS TRISTRAMS ![]() ![]() ![]() ??!!!!

Lol, the spider things were creepy as fuck too in a3. Worldstone probably had the creepiest characters, but not as creepy of an environment. They had the fetish/undead dolls, and those fucking souls turn invisible and pop up and shoot lightning and rape you.
