So what you're saying is...My team didn't get lucky because the bracket came out to be my team verse a team that doesn't know much english?

No I am saying you were getting a NA/SA team regardless, that in itself is a blessing since there aren't any up and coming teams coming from either of these regions, short of you drawing one of the CEVO teams, you're set. The last time SA had a team worth mentioning on any stage was back in 43-48b era with Metro's team; Artyk Gaming gains an honorable mention despite not achieving much.
To put it another way, I used Curse-based Silencer (pre-changes, aka the single target version) with some success over one of the supposedly better Brazilian teams at the time. That tells you how depleted the scene was then and it certainly hasn't gotten better since then.
Oh if you get one of the CEVO teams later on, it's pretty easy to break them if you pick smart.

Actually the only Brazilian team worth mentioning currently is CNB since they occasionally play on international level and can match with some of the better NA DotA teams. Nv.int did drop a game to them when they reformed their lineup... lol Funny thing is, FYC doesn't exist anymore so omgirok's group is practically all SA teams so if they play well mb they can take the group. Also in other news Nv.cn lost by default because of LAN events. Kind of wanted to see the new lineup but oh well

Then the TL team should fair pretty well if they play up, it's a pretty weak line up. We should have signed up Ack (GGGET5).

It's probably not hard to get far in the region with a well made roster and a little luck with who you're playing.

This your team? Doesn't look like all TL people.. : http://www.dota-league.com/?section=team&id=20417
Don't offer to sign me up for random shit fag.
Also, Hit0mi, JohnnyUtah, Eddie, Old NA XsK players, some Hi2U players from NA were all around when Demon was playing I believe..they were all better. Fear just pulled the improbable by actually returning and being a beast at the game. But yeah currently, Demon would probably be the best which is sad.

It's just omgirok and friends.

I mean we should have re-made ours for this tourney lolol.
Nope, Demon came into scene after all of those guys went inactive. Eddie was in China pulling a HelloKitty, Rwar pretty much went inactive after he joined SK, Remstar was still around, Hitomi already "retired", Xsk broke up or went inactive, Hi2u wasn't heard again after 52 went live. NA at that time was pretty much Pandemic and The Pouncing Ligers, but you had Demon's team which was pretty LULZ (darksheep so fail).

So anyone have a good idea for a lineup that we can use?^_^

Risen here, defiler and swiftblade should be the focus of any of your teams. Their pushing power and late game viability override any other first two picks (as long as you ban smart, like get rid of scout no matter how stupid a ban it seems)
I really enjoy push teams that can get towers down early and then proceed to kongor immediately. I also don't think junglers are going to be very viable in this tourney unless you have a VERY good tempest.
Backdoor warbeast strat might be viable if you can catch a turtle team off guard with a last pick warbeast, but I don't know the rules on that so make sure it's legal.
Lacking swifty as your carry, try as hard as you can to grab TDL. If you're smart and play safe anything with defiler/swiftblade/TDL/(honorable mention as he sometimes makes it through banning phase) engineer can push towers and then farm up a very effective fighting force.
I cannot emphasize enough how important engineer and defiler are. Their silences can be so clutch in team fights, that even when facing teams that have turtled all the way to late game your team will have a fighting chance (provided you have some disables on hand, even if its just a cyclone stick or a kuldras)
Summary:
Top picks are going to be defiler, swiftblade, TDL, engineer Top bans are going to be electrician, plague rider, and scout
As always, when banning check the other teams top played heroes and deny them their favorite picks (especially their designated carry players).
Good luck, and have fun! Sorry I wasn't able to participate in this tournament, I've been wayyyyy too busy the past few weeks.

For a push team and semi-decent jungler I also like ophelia in competitive games especially if you need support.

Better to go Warbeast if you need support.

You're pretty much unstoppable after that with all the additional damage for pushing and hero killing.
