Spurs boss Juande Ramos has signed England winger Stewart Downing, according to reports. Tottenham have tabled a £12m bid for the Middlesbrough star, fighting off interest for the 23-year-old from the likes of Everton, West Ham and Newcastle. The Sun says Spurs tabled the offer late on Friday night, with midfielder Teemu Tainio the makeweight in the deal. Downing had been a target for former Spurs boss Martin Jol before he was sacked but was still wanted by new manager Ramos.
