I'M NOT YELLING is the third tournament in the "post-Genesis NorCal grassroots Melee regionals" series (ha); it's the sequel to The Next Episode and Do You Fox Wit It?, and this time, it's bigger and better than ever before.
Featuring 372 entrants--a record for NorCal Melee tournaments--and 25 (!) MIOM Top 100-ranked players, this tournament will be a must-watch! Mango will have his shot at revenge against the Swedish invaders Leffen and Armada for eliminating him from Apex 2015; the strongest players in NorCal (PewPewU, Shroomed, SFAT, HomeMadeWaffles, Laudandus, SilentSpectre, Bizzarro Flame, Darrell, Toph, Scar) and SoCal (Westballz, Fly Amanita, Lucky, MacD, HugS, Ken, Tafokints, Santiago/Lil Fumi) will do their best to take out the 3 of the top 6 in attendance and try to defend their home region against out-of-region powerhouses KirbyKaze, DruggedFox, and Frootloop.
It'll be streamed on http://twitch.tv/showdownsmash, with a secondary stream at http://twitch.tv/showdowngg. Showdown is arguably the best streamer in Smash, featuring high-quality equipment and layouts, and possibly some new "secret tech" that'll be revealed at the tournament!
BONUS: Also featuring a doubles round robin! Group 4 (Mango + SS, Shroomed + Leffen, MacD + SFAT, PewPewU + Armada) won the fan voting!
Boback posted this on the MIOM fb page: "....at IM NOT YELLING! feat. ARMADA, MANGO, LEFFEN, KIRBYKAZE! we will be doing a TEAMS RR Exhibition! The players involved will be: Mango, Armada, Leffen, SFAT, PewPewU, Shroomed, MacD, and Silent Spectre! The catch? We will be pairing up these top teams players with unlikely combinations that you rarely see in tournament! You will be able to VOTE for your favorite combination of teammates to participate in the team round robin exhibition later TONIGHT during the Foundry tournament, live on http://twitch.tv/showdownsmash! TUNE IN TO FIND OUT WHO WILL BE TEAMING WITH WHO, AND CAST YOUR VOTE LIVE!"
Sounds super amazing :D The teams tournament itself is also going to be super stacked, with pewfat and shroomed+armada
SO HARD to pick from these! Ended up voting for #4, #1 looked interesting for Mango vs Armada and PewFat and #3 was attractive for Mango + leffen vs Armada + Macd, but #4 overall had the most interesting pairs and seemed the most balanced

ehhhh PPU + Armada and Shroomed + Leffen seem a lot stronger than the other two teams in option 4
also why did Sheridan seed you 5th? gettin slept on
Oh hey, didn't realize you knew my TL screen name.
I agree PPU+Armada and Shroomed+Leffen are probably strongest, but Mango+SS was probably most hype pairing possible for SS, and I think all the teams have a chance.
But yeah I guess I have to actually play in tournaments outside of Berkeley if I want to get seeded at events :p I expected the tournament to be super tough anyway though, so I don't really mind how I'm seeded either way (Not that my pool looks that hard compared to a couple others, though).
yeah I considered titling it IM NOT YELLING but that looks obnoxious

I know all (nah but seriously i knew this was your username back from iccup in like 2010, i'm pretty sure)

yeah, i'm 3rd seed for some weird reason, but i'm pretty scared of the lower seeds LOL
i'm probably one of the bottom 5 3rd seeds in skill tbh, while players better than me like cpt faceroll / corigames are unseeded (??)
Pretty excited for this. West coast tournament means finals will probably end so late on sunday evening that I can't technically watch it even if I don't have to sleep before work.

sleeping on the kid
Sleeping on SS to be honest he's a bit weaker than the other supporting players (Shroomed, PPU) though obviously not bad

INY day 1 was pretty fun! Made it out of my pool as a third seed by beating Atrioc and some random spacies. Sandbagging Westballz dropped 3 games in my pool. Probably hundreds of people have taken games off Westballz at this point. Also went 2-2 teams. Playing Shroomed-Armada was a pretty strange experience, I pretty much would get hit over and over before I could even orient myself. When I switched from puff to fox I also literally didn't win a single neutral ;_;
So proud of Berkeley! Pulling the upset against UCSC and UCI (who already bought their plane tickets rofl)
Besides TMG, afaik the notable upsets were that Bardull beat Toph and C.Rabbit beat Ky (going all Kirby I heard, LOL)
Armada won the first game on battlefield, then Bizzaro took him back to battlefield and won. But then Armada went peach and 3 stocked him on dreamland. Still good show by Bizzaro Flame.

Well these guys have both been playing with Mango for forever, and it's in his home region, AND Mang0 actually is playing really well (much better than the last time they played).
I actually think they're talking a lot more about Leffen than I expected them to, hah.
PPU doesn't seem as comfortable on FD, and his chain grabs aren't as punishing as M2K. Yorkie is right that Leffen is sick on this stage too. Idk about FD as counter :/

Mango just 3 stocked him with some sick combos what the fuck do you want them to say
It's about during the game not after. And it's every time you listen to Scar when Mango is playing. We get Mango is good and Scar is his buddy. But it gets really annoying eventually.

Shoutouts to Cloud 9
What's your deal man?
You've bitched about the same commentary thing three times now. We get it. You see it in every youtube comments section for match replays so I think you'd fit right in
Is the commentary supposed to be tailored toward noobs or something? Scar has repeatedly explained things that are common knowledge. Feels a little bit like maybe he just doesn't know what else to say? Idk. Otherwise I don't have any complaints personally.
Mango looks poised to take this tournament. I would be surprised if Armada was able to adapt this quickly.
Watched the twitch vod from doubles finals onward. Was a good tournament, some great games. Leffen vs PPU was the most exciting set for me personally.
Really curious how the counterpicks are gonna work out the next few sets between Armada and Mango. First match should become increasingly important to win.
This was fun I went 0-2 in bracket like a lil scrub though. Almost took a game off Gar but I sded, and had two very close games vs Tuxedo Mask.
I'm happy Armada won with Peach, and that PPU did so well (next time stop screwing around during Fox respawn invincibility ugh) Also, Kira (and to a lesser extent Santi) doing so well was cool.
I should actually watch the videos to hear the commentary, lol

I call Leffen the best up smasher in the world. Nobody else kills as many people with an invincible up smash
I'm so happy for Armada's Peach. He looked untouchable. Don't know how much of it was Armada and how much of not was Mango failing to adapt to the counter pick though.
