There's a intro to smash thing on these forums towards the bottom, and the TL preview linked in OP kinda goes over the players but it's more their achievements rather than play styles.

If you have more questions than are answered in the intro to smash thread, lemme know, happy to help out new folks!

It's like when top players play friendlies against each other before a tourney, no one wants to show what they've got so those friendlies are always terrible. Friendlies after a tourney is finished (if by some miracle it finished on time) are always way better.

It's also that Mew2King can't beat PPMD with Sheik as is the case against plenty of other space animals but M2K completely loses his main gimmick(counterpicking space animals on FD with Marth) because PPMD beats him in Marth dittos as well. It's like a total hard counter.

Doesn't like like he'll get past Hyuga/Sheridan, even if he somehow did DEHF would bop him. GL in Losers though.

rofl how did hot_bid manage to draw hyuga first round while every other random in the world got a bye (and Sung manage to get a first round match too)

Games would've still been way better if they both took the games seriously. Still a PP win probably but not such sloppy plays even in game 1 from both players.

Hello, I've never really watched Smash before...
Would anyone mind making a list of Top10 players in the tournament, as well as the Top 10 in the world? It would really help me know who's good, and cheer for certain people and whatnot.

Haha I quoted the wrong person, sorry!
That said, have you tried another browser? That worked for someone on reddit.
AI in project M are slightly improved in that they've been taught some ATs like wavedashing, but for the most part they've still pretty bad/AI-y. If you want really good AIs to combo practice on, try the 20XX hack pack, which has AI that DI randomly/bunches of other AI modifying things you can turn on (like having them hold shield, etc).
Not a marth player, but what goes wrong for you? It's all about developing spacing, to the point you can feel the difference between which parts of the blade hit your opponent.
