I'm somewhat put off by what feels like the amateurish level of commentary. Maybe I'm just used to Starcraft, but I imagine Dota and LoL sound more professional than this. Smash commentary (and FGC commentary in general I suppose) was originally meant for those actually attending the tournaments. When you don't have to worry about appealing to a stream audience, you can be a lot more casual. It also really depends on who's commentating. Fair enough.

If the streaming channels had dedicated casters, maybe pro commentating would actually be a thing. But at the moment, the responsibility goes to whoever isn't playing a match and actually wants to cast. Some of the top tier players have great game knowledge (go figure) and can speak well, but that doesn't mean anything if they're not available to cast. Wobbles and Wife are also really great commentators, but they don't really cast that many events at all.
A lot of it is just having to make do with what you have.
And lmao shroomed. Third time's the charm!

saltyplayground wrote a nice preview/profile on the event here if you want to read it: http://www.saltyplayground.de/republic-of-fighters-3-event-profile/
and the bracket for the event: http://rof3.challonge.com/SSBMtop48
We got Leffen (Fox) vs Ice (Shiek), and Armada (Peach/Fox) vs aMSa (Yoshi)
Overtriforce (Shiek?) will play vs the loser of Armada/aMSa, and Zgetto (Fox) will play vs the loser of Leffen/Ice.
looks like the games are about to start soon!
