what if LotV is taking to long and they use wc4 to fill time? aside from that the RTS genre is lacking in general, so a better rts than sc2 could easily pull players in.

I think Blizzard are too concerned with their image. They really care what their fans think of them - and rightfully so. Announcing Warcraft 4 before the Starcraft 2 trilogy is completed would feel like being stabbed in the back if you're a part of the starcraft community.
The way I see it, the soonest they can announce a new RTS without losing face is 1.5 to 2 years after LotV has been released.

Them announcing WC4 when LotV isn't even out (or announced) would be seen as them jumping ship. The SC2 ship, that is. People would likely take it as them discarding SC2 and exaggerate.

They might surprise us for all we know... But I don't see it happening.

i agree with Spaylz, WC4 is going to happen but not befor LoTV. we could probably see a WC3 integration to bnet 2.0 or and upgrade of graphics. maybe, just maybe we can see a 10sec video or the equivalent of "hell is about time" of Wc4.

they are able to work on something like 5 games right now. that means in some time they will have big capacities so they can make Wc4. and theyre building the Franchise with the movie , Hearthstone and Hots

It would be cool if Blizzard blocked the empty bots so they can stop flooding the custom games list on battle.net. I mean it's been like this since 2008, and last time I checked, the empty bots plastered on the list were advertising links to "jailbait", underage pornography and god knows what else.

I guess the "technology just isn't there" for them to figure out how to convert the following pseudo-code to use on their server implementation:

if (number_of_players == 0)
doNotHost();
