Possible explanations for a silver dragon seeking this party: Lack of good parties in the land. Lack of other high level parties in general. General curiosity in humans. Time constraint. Monetary constraint. Considering the tenor of the age ( http://rollplaydnd.wikia.com/wiki/Age_of_Might ) I wouldn't be surprised if true good amongst humanoids was simply too rare and/or short-lived.

EDIT : and as we've seen so far, JP could get more trouble just for wearing the black robe, so in my eyes it could be pretty handy to 'trick' the world by just wearing another color. Are you allowed to do that, and would you get away with it? I think I recall there something being said about the different kinds of mages in the show, but I am not sure if that covered these questions. I suppose you could argue that you are not truly a black mage,... I dont know. Thoughts?

I dont know about you guys, but if I were, lets say a black mage, the first thing i'd do is buy a red and white robe and try to convince mages of said colour to learn me their spells. I suppose you could argue that you are not truly a black mage,... I dont know. Thoughts? in the dragonlance series' world, the setting neal is borrowing quite a bit from for rollplay, each of the three mage sects have their own divine patron; as a trio, they rule over magic and influence the ability of the wizards that pay homage to them. in the same way that abigael constantly gets weird looks lately from religious NPCs that listen to her talk about her window shopping policy on faith, or how tudagub might have ended up losing his divine spells if he started badmouthing jexel overmuch, it would probably be a grade A bad idea for a black mage to blaspheme against his magic-providing deity unless they're like the mortal right hand of that deity or they beg pardon in the name of working to further dark goals. along the same vein, I'm curious now if there are hedge wizards in the RP setting (there were in dragonlance) or if it's a tightly regimented and structured system where most young people with potential need to be trained and pick a color somehow. I don't think gen's mage character in misscliks had a colored robe and that's apparently the same setting, but the first session wasn't too big on establishing the setting or the external influences on the PCs.

This is more-or-less correct. You can change between the three orders if you feel like it, but the orders of magic are highly structured. A black robed wizard posing as a white robed wizard would be not only offending his god and his order, but also be going against the established order of mages (who all get along no problem. Magic first, alignment second) and would be branded as a renegade, which carries a death sentence. When you start learning magic, you pick an order. Before you can advance to 5th level (any time before then), you must take a test. If you fail the test, you die. Those that advance to 5th level and beyond without taking the test, or those that renounce the order of mages and do their own shit are renegades.

Most importantly, will not intervene with Rollplay and Rollplay will have priority over the new one, Dark Heresy.

Never played any of the 40k rp supplements but from my limited understanding I believe dark heresy is somewhat notorious reputation for high fatality rates ![]() After all, in the grim darkness of the far future you will not be missed, the one thing the =][= is not short on is expendable manpower.
