HOCKEY'S BACK!!! And that means, MORE TL FANTASY HOCKEY!! Welcome to the 7TH!! season. Here's to another great season. Eti307 has been on fire. Third place in 2009, second place in 2010, and last years champ.he's medaled four out of five times...Yours truly was the brides maid! And Battleaxe took third!
If interested, send me a PM. Returners get first priority. Season starts in essentially a week. Draft is scheduled for Wednesday at 8 EST (subject to change).
New to Liquid Hockey and interested in joining?
- Experience with Yahoo! Fantasy Hockey strongly preferred
- You must stay ACTIVE for the entire 6 month season

What is fantasy sports?
You draft good players from different teams and you manage them. Simple enough? Well it probably isn't so I will explain a little more in depth.
YEAH! One of my players got a lot of points!
Different players play on different days. If a player gets a hat trick on Tuesday but you left him on the bench on that day. I would call you an idiot. Why? You wouldn't get the stats for that player!
So what do I do?
Everyday the players who are playing need to NOT be on the bench. There are 2 Center, 2 Left Wings, 2 Right Wings, 4 Defensemen, and 2 Goalie positions. Those positions MUST be filled by the respective category. A C Pos must be filled by a player of yours who actually plays center. There are 2 utility spots. These are much easier because they can be filled by anyone except goalies. So say you have 4 centermen playing one night. Dang it, you only have 2 center spots available each night. AHHH 2 utility spots are available! 2 centers playing in the 2 C Pos and 2 centers playing in the 2 utility spots.
Note: Sometimes you will have very few players playing one day and nearly your whole team playing another. This happens. You will have to muster up your amazing manager skills to decide who gets benched and who gets to play. (Sometimes you might make the wrong call and a benched player has an awesome night.)

Jesus I totally forgot about fantasy. I came to do this league last time and was like I'm gonna rail these dudes. Everyone took my sleepers 1 round before me or right before my pick. Most frustrating thing ever.

I got a late jump on this which didn't help. Zymurgy PMed me about it on Thursday which only gave us 6 days. But we still have 2 hours to go..there's hope!

Got a tenth!!
Stat categories are now 7-3 (removed saves), more of an equal emphasis on the offensive/goalie stats. Took out a utility player as well.

Next year, we'll be starting a keeper league as well as a continuation of this one from year to year.

i feel like i did too many changes to my roster lately and it might affect my results this weeks. Still wouldnt have been able to reach the finals if i hadn't done it so we'll see.
Hopefully i can break eti's streak and be the new champion.
btw, what do you mean by keeper league?

A keeper league is when you pick X amount of players from your roster each year. Rest of the players get put into the draft pool and are drafted for the new year. Puts more of an emphasis on drafting younger/rising players for future years (ie Yakupov, Hall, Gallagher).
