But Gene, that is bullshit because looking at your 7x7 square, I see 7 villages that are at 30 pop or under. If you go few screens out, there are tons more. And I know there are 200 pop villages by you, but almost everyone else, including me, has a lot of competition for farms too.

I usually have a constant stream of raids that bring back 75 resrouces each. And yes, I can subsist on this, since I have resorted to sending something like 30 groups of 4 TT's each, etc. Annoying, but doable. Eventually moving on to crushing competitoin, etc.

so if you make more raids with fewer units, don't you run the risk of losing squadrons? i liked to send 30 clubbers on a raid (for about a 50 pop opponent) but after a little analysis it looks like i should be running with 10-15 per raid

however sometimes i run into phalanx and legs and my superior numbers really save my skin. is the net gain better when you send out smaller squadrons such that the loss of small deployments is covered?

yup, but i do these "itty bitty" raids as KingF calls them, onto villages that are below 20 pop, whom I've attacked with like 12 TT's in the past, and i KNOW are inactive. Otherwise, the 4 TT squads get sent to "clean up" villages that gave me a full load to like 12 or 8 TT's. But yea, i do run the risk of losing TT's, and I've lost quite a few lol. But the largest losses come from stupidly attacking ~40 guys w/o scouting, and run into 10 legs or whatever.

However the worst by far is when you attack someone and Ghin has given him 100 phalanx!! lololol
