That's the route i typically take. Very easy way to quickly grab some weapons without the risk of getting sniped/killed by zombies.

Edit: btw I normally take the NE route, hit Berenzino and the hospitals/supermarkets there, all the deer stands on the way, and go to the NE airfield for some nice easy loot, and then head Stary/NW airfield way from there.
That way is so much less populated its crazy, not saying you won't see anyone but you're far safer than going up west side and NW airfield.
