Jesus, this is horrible. I downloaded the beta and tried for a few minutes and man, they probably should have worked more on this before releasing it as a beta... The controls are just horrible, my character gets stuck constantly, especially when there's a ton of stuff around (like after you "ride" the boat), there's no real instructions other than stuff some NPCs are saying, which changes from time to time so you need to actually look at them to have any idea what to do... the graphics load really slow, took more than a minute before my character actually got a model, so I was walking around completely invisible... the equipment window was just black, until I put on the hat which actually had a 3d model in the equipment window. An NPC asks if you want a haircut, there's a dying vat etc so I assumed I could customize my character, but unlike the other characters, interacting with this one didn't even work.

I'll give it some more time later on when I have time to watch tutorial videos etc, but atm, it feels more like a buggy flash game than a proper beta.

Yep those lets play were quite helpful, god damn smooth stones are hard to come by atm with so many people around boston though.

I've found edit:three now, and some much higher level curios that i am averse to study yet, it took about 10minutes walk from town to start finding stuff though. to many people there grabbing all the spawns

Does anyone know if studying the same type of object twice gives the same type of gains again, or if as the bars suggest only bring it up to the highest gains from either one.

oh man, i went out of boston to look for some stuff to sell, and now you cant teleport back to boston, only with an empty inventory :/ ? and no idea how to go back, since there's no real compass

well thats interesting to know... i'm definately not getting back to boston anytime soon if thats the case. I have wandered quite far and have curios that give thousands of study points that i definately am not parting with soon.

It feels like studying colonial tradesmanship is the first step to make tools etc.

Anyone have any idea how to get the 'Law & Lore' skill up?

Also, i found a brilliant honey dew, giving around 3000 to 4 skills each O.o

Edit: crafting some inspirational taste of the new world stuff did it for me

Got it working (I'd turned off caching with java :S), but I wandered out of Boston across a field, and now it crashes every 30 seconds when I try to log back in
