Edit: I respect what the awp adds to higher levels, and the difficulty involved, but at MGE and below it's dumb.

Especially because they suck enough to actually miss a shot, but then the other 2 just shoot you.

In general, you want to make very small movements against an awper. This is because you only need to just barely dodge his shot -- so the less movements, the better. Any movements in a straight line presents an easy target.

3 main ways to do this:
(1) When approaching to peek, you want to rapidly alternate the Q/E strafe and gradually creep up to him with that. What happens is you're flashing your shoulder at him and essentially baiting him to take a shot at a very small part of your body that's constantly weaving in and out of view. If he doesn't take the shot, you'll have a shot on a standing target in a second or two.

(2) Learn to time his shot and crouch for 1/4 to 1/2 a second. Many awpers will aim at the chest and a timely crouch is all you need to dodge. Then you have a full 1.5 seconds to burst him down before his next shot.

(3) Like #2, time his shots and then make a very slight strafing dodge. The further away you are from the awper, the less movement you need to do to dodge.


Also, google and youtube up cs:go flash videos on each map, and try to watch some scrims/pro matches on twitch. I still learn new flashes time to time, and you'd better believe if they're effective at the pro level, they're SUPER effective in pubs.
