GTR used left click knife because it doesn't make any sound in thirdperson unless you hit someone--if the CT fakes the defuse in the smoke (which VP did multiple times that half), he will be unaware that the T is in the smoke with him. Also, if you left click with knife you can hear when you're hitting the opposing player, while you can't with the glock unless you dink the enemy (there is a sound played upon body shots, but it is usually drowned out by the sound of the glock). The play made sense, but GTR should have right clicked after the first or second left click (when he knew he was hitting) This is an explanation someone found on HLTV.org about the get_right knife thing.
