So far Reave is pretty disappointing. It's probably going to be decent for longer races since shadows kinda have shit aoe until lvl19 (melee splash gem from spider cave) The stacks fade so fast, the aoe is like a: _____ <_____ So unless the mobs stand on top of each other it feels really weird. The only thing it's good at is low mana cost, and no 40% dmg reduction when dual wielding. Maybe it'll get better with multistrike, if not I'll just stick with doublestriked melee splash. edit: my ascii skills are pretty terrible, but just try the skill out for yourselves and you'd prob see what I mean | ||

The easiest way I can explain Reave is that it starts out as basically just a melee hit and at the maximum stage is hitting half your screen, the AoE travels similarly to how GMP freeze pulse looks. Edit: There has to be something at melee range though which seems to be the downside, even if you are at the higher stages and you do the attack, you don't get the AoE unless you hit something with the melee part of the attack. | ||

-Increased AoE nodes (Templar or Witch, Templar preferred) -Duelist increased melee range -Multistrike With this and the fact that it doesn't use both hands, instead alternating, I'm skeptical that it's better than muling Cleave for Shadow races, especially longer or Turbo ones. If we ever get a Shadow tree remake, hopefully we'll see a +1 melee range/area of effect hybrid. With a powercharge on critt gem with 7 charges coupled with a simple lvl 64 dagger you could get almost 70% critt without any other crittgear whatsoever. Using Carcass jack you'd have 60% increased radius of area skills. So maybe you could hit offscreen  With Eldritch battery and good hybrid gear you could run artic armour which should be really nice with multistrike, might prevent you from oneshotting yourself on first reflect pack. | ||
