I just made 21st overall in the 90 min turbo as ranger. I didn't find a single IPD bow though, so meh. I just don't see how you are supposed to keep up with people when none of your weapons are even decent..

Desync'd into a room of flicker strike spiders in Weavers. :/ Was 13th place at the time.
Edit: Was first to level 4,5,6, 7 and 8. Also was first to Lower, Upper, and was loading the instance when someone else got to Ledge. Lol.

I died at 9th overall in the race, I got owned by blue LA skellys, turn on kripp's stream he dies to the exact same mobs 2 mins later LOL

Pretty much story of my life, desync and die to flicker strike.

Well, except that I tend to be like 50, 60 places behind you.

What's the highest +gem level mod there is? I've gotten +2's, and I know there's some +3's on unique's. Wondering if I could work some magic with Blessed Orbs.

It's actually physically painful to me to watch Kripp's stream and see literally 80-90% of his statues be brittle. Well, it might be the Chinese food I wolfed down causing the pain, but still. Dat RNG.

3rd, 2nd Ranger... New personal best with 1.2M. Had godly gear, with 150dps, 350hp and 660 evasion (~55% evade). The only problem was the -41% lightning resist, which really slowed things down in the Desecrated Shrine.

I could have done much better with this gear, probably getting 3rd record, but I'm happy about it anyway. Kinda sucked having small flasks all the way until the guaranteed Large life flask, but I had the damage to make up for it.

We were both on par with the 3rd place record when I died. I was actually ahead of you before I died, you should have probably leveled alot faster in the last 15 mins. I looked at the Xp gain of the top 5 players and you lost alot of XP on boof who won the race. Did you try and kill the exiles? What happened?

I only killed the summoner exile, and I got destroyed in the desecrated shrine. I was way behind in zones, but my previous zones had good mob density. I entered the Hall of Heroes almost 20 wtih ~8 minutes left and left it barely 21 after a full clear. The whole thing was empty =(

Oh damn that sucks. Hall of Heroes is usually insane exp. Pretty happy that we are both improving and getting closer to beating 3rd ranger record, it's just really frustrating that I died because it would have been extremely close between the two of us this time. But in all honesty, my gear was alot worse than yours, how did you get all that? Even in my best race I got 125 or so dps, 150 dps seems absurdly high, did you have 2 damage rolls on your quiver and 90 ipd on your bow or something? o.O

Try 84% IPD +20% composite bow with 1-14 lightning on both quiver and gloves, a 4-7 physical roll on some random blue iron ring, and the sockets for RoA+FP and Hatred. I had some good life rolls, but the -41% lightning resist hurts too much.

I also never found a useful life flask in the whole run. Went from small to the guaranteed Large, to the guaranteed Greater, still running Large+Greater in desecrated...

Rank 3 #1 duelist. Had to log out in mud flats and got really scared it would screw me over later. Those desyncing turbo rhoas can so so nasty, I could have manned up on them since I only need to kill 1 more to lvl up, but I've died like that 3 times in a row last 3 races so.... Luckily it didn't really have an impact. I was fighting for first until Cavern of Wrath. Kept getting perma punctured by the archers, so ended up wasting a lot of time on them. Kinda bad rng with perma puncture and rare archer blocking path (WTF!). Other than that I had insane rng on ledge, yellow 1hander that I didn't replace until I killed merveil, and got the minion amulet from a random mob (1% mana leech 25% cold ress and some useless minion bonuses). That amulet really ended up saving my ass since the 25 cold res on it was the only thing I had vs merveil since the vendor didn't want to sell me any sapphire rings. Ended up selling 9 id scrolls for 3 tp's and used 4 tp's on merveil.

I'm guessing the shadow that won was able to oneshot the suicide bombers in Cavern of Anger since he got past them so easy. I needed 2 hits on them so had to back of a lot.

Also tried going into first room of sins 2 this time since There was no way I could get #1. Not doing that again

Those lightning skellies are nasty!

man... i totally wanted to finish this descent race... first i died in the first zone (LOOL) and lost 2 minutes and then i died to a rare merveil's daughter at lvl 12 while being #10 and #2 mara

Does anyone running ranger successfully in descent races have any tips for consistency in the early zones (say, up to cruel abyss)? It seems so rng-dependent, but there are always tricks to improve your odds, and I seem to struggle horribly there. I'm generally finishing at level 19-20 and always 4 levels behind by the time I get to cruel. When I compare to vods of, for example, FleepQC he's rarely more than 2 levels behind, so I think that's where I'm losing most of my time. I guess I'm especially thinking of how much to grind certain levels to avoid problems in later zones, e.g. possibly farming 4 in the 2nd zone even if you get garbage mob density just so you can use RoA on necro+rhoa packs, which are pretty much unkillable with split arrow from what I've seen, or farming to maybe 9.5 in the spider zone so you can double quicksilver through the bad parts of statues...

Tried out Witch .. started 7 minutes late, ended up 3rd witch, made it further than I have ever gotten with shadow as well, though not level wise. Have a few ideas on how to make it better next time.

#8 overall #5 duelist. Lost like 3 ranks when I died with less than 30 seconds left. The blue pack was so tempting. Found unique ignimon amulet from monkey chest which really saved me. Also had the absolute worst Perpertus zone I've ever seen. 90% of the mobs was flicker strikers. 9% was monkeys. And maybe even less than 1% was the easy melee ones. Was like 2 in the boss room which was only ones I met. Had to log out at Perpertus due to 4x flicker champs in his room.
