So five minutes before the race started I decided I wanted to do it, I always roll Duelist for races because that's what i'm most confident with early game, so I had to search for a pub group because the only people on my friend's list were all in a party together already. (Yeah, a 7th wheel, pretty special.) So I find a pub group of 6, long story short, 4 of them die, and only me and this other Duelist make it to Ledge. To massively summarize this argument, basically he wanted to move on to Brutus faster than I wanted to because I wasn't confident with my abilities to fight turbo Brutus, and he ended up leaving my party, rather pissed off, I eventually find a new group and we kill Brutus with only one loss, who we quickly find a replacement for. (A witch who will be relevent later.), we eventually get to merveil very slowly as all of them refuse to skip any content more or less and are full clearing zones, or close to it. We finally get to Merveil and 4 of them die. We killed her around 70 minutes in. (Yeah. ._.) Me and the Witch survive barely, and I dropped some really nice Gloves. (25 hp, 10 x 3 res, and 1% LL.) we found some random 3rd guy who I believe lived for approximately five minutes after he joined out party, but.. he did serve a good purpose as a waypoint holder so we clear Act 2 in record time probably 95 minutes in at this point and start heading up vaal ruins right when the patch is announced. We race to Oak to help him, and then to the waterfall cave wp. We make it by like 30 seconds. I then won the download-the-patch-asap-so-you-can-get-back-to-racing battle over everyone on my friends list, so that was a nice boost of xp. We ended up farming pyramid and waterfall because we were too afraid to kill Vaal as the two of us, and we couldnt get a pub together to cover fire him. Lol. So at the end, turns out the dude that was really rude earlier ended up getting 1st Duelist, and I ended up getting 2nd Duelist, and 15th Overall, my witch ally got 2nd Witch, and 17th overall. So I scored 11 point. That was by far my best race, and an amazing comeback. I've only ever had one top 20 placement in my class before. (20th exactly.) So that was extremely exciting for me. TLDR Race started out terribly, made some sick pub teamwork with a Witch, and ended up getting 2nd Duelist, and 15th overall. Edit: I accidentally'd a word. | ||

Cause the Wiki says: Each of the three damage types is increased by "weapon elemental damage" and "elemental damage" passives and item mods. Would really suck if it doesn't work, since my whole build is based on it :O | ||

I'm relatively new so I've been watching prices for high end items and getting a good grasp of which affixes are valuable e.t.c, but as said above I have no idea when it comes to mid-level items. logged in a minute late, then died to voidbearers (felt like desync, no idea) so i created another char like 6 min late and tried again. made lvl 18 1/2 and #4 mara at #38 overall. godly RNG except for the most crucial part... the weapon. my weapon was the worst i ever had. but else it was godly. i alched a coral ring with some dmg, more life and 2 resistances. i found the all res helmet unique which rolled 35 all res. then i found gloves with tri res, each like 10-15. else was mediocre at best, but the weapon... i tried hard to make a better one, but every single alch and chaos failed... so in the end i used a 2h weapon with +22% phys and like 1-21 lightning dmg, else only crap stats. | ||

Edit: Just made 23 overall 6th ranger on the descent race lvl18 and 95% towards 19. Is rain of arrows really better than split arrow? Last time I watched nugiyens stream when he made top10 he used rain of arrows for aoe and I don't really see how it's superior unless you're surrounded. Split arrow with fork can clean entire rooms with just a few shots from a really safe distance... Also tried poison arrow instead of burning arrow this time, the tooltip dps on burning is higher, and the mana cost on poison is also higher. So next time I'll try to stick with burning + forked split to see if I can hopefully break top20. Poison arrow seemed better on the unique resser boss though, since I remember last time I got bad res rng and he kept ressing infront of him so his shield would regen. Also the statue area is resistant vs chaos damage. | ||

Or the better question is why these rings are valuable, as I'm assuming there would be better versions of them dropping in merciless? I'm still learning in regards to the economy in this game.
