RE: Inner Force and Elemental Adeptation, the spec picks both of those up eventually, using 3 respec points to go the more efficient way to Static Blows around level 80. The priority is resist passives near the centre first, and then work toward Inner Force. With Marauder, I can't really go CI, since the start of the tree is so rife with HP nodes. I will be playing CI Cyclone on a Duelist once I have enough gear for it.
My current 6L plan for Cleave is Blood Magic, WED, Life Leech, Faster Attacks, and Multistrike (the guide says to use Elemental Proliferation, but that was before Multistrike came out). The 30 Dex talent in the level 100 plan is simply a filler point, to get at level 100 (which I won't ever reach) or when I need the stats badly enough. I was only considering leveling the Cleave gem beyond 5 since it'd be a DPS increase if I supplimented melee damage talents along with the elemental ones, just because of how the numbers were changed so much.
There is certainly some interesting advice here. I initially used Determination as a 4th aura because I wanted increased survivability, and it's a fairly substatial armour increase with Grace. Not using Wrath does suck, as it gives a lot of DPS. I may give that a try since I'm level 69 and haven't done Sins or Broken Bridge yet. That, and I'm afraid of fighting Vaal as melee. Very afraid.

15th, 3rd Ranger, 838k xp, lvl 19 new personal best (2nd had 843k, minimum for lvl 20). Had a pretty good start, but rolled a mostly shitty composite bow. In retrospect, I should have rerolled it. You really need that 120dps to one shot ribbons and speed up that run. Live and learn.
Fun stuff: had capped cold resist somehow =) It was mostly useless, but it allowed me to finally destroy that Glacial Hammer exile. Glorious!
Edit: Wow, they turned the simple life pack into a notable evasion pack + hp, and added another Fitness notable. And they nerfed monster accuracy...+ Show Spoiler +

On first glance the Coral Ring looks really really good for a Life build, the Shield probably too. The Wand should also be good enough for being worth some GCP... i'm not expert though, but those three items look the most expensive to me.

edit: Ouch, grats on the Lioneye's... Thanks. Lol. I paid 2 ex for the worst Lioneye's you've ever seen, the guy said he was quitting to play Onslaught, and then spent 2.5 ex to craft it to 5L 6S, and then got those rolls on the 2nd Divine.
I'm not knowledgeable enough about Wander gear to help you, sorry. Some very brief research would make me guesstimate the wand to be worth 7-13 gcp. Maaaaybe 1 ex.
Ill bid 1 gcp on your gloves, @ dude that posted the link to his items, its actually perfect for what I need on my non-MF gear. I think they're worth 1-2 gcp.

Was kinda funny at first though because the market was over inflated by speculation of the exalt going up similarly to SC rates. (Which are pretty damn close to what we are at right now.) But it hasn't gone down much. People mostly want Fusings, Chisels and Exalts, and somewhat want Alch, Scour and Chaos. You can easily get 110 Fusings for 1 Exalt, and if you don't mind spamming trade chat for half an hour or so, you can get 120:1
4 Chaos:1 GCP was pretty much the standard rate since about halfway through week 1. And exalts went from 5 gcp: 1 to 12 gcp : 1 within the first two weeks of the league.

What? I've seen SC guys buying chaos at 45:1 ex today, else at 50 or 55 max. Same for fusings, sold 100 for 1ex recently, today at 90:1. We might have a different definition of "up", your league is more expensive than SC. Or your rates are off.

i regularly see 1 Exalted = 15 GCP, sometimes even 16... with 4 Chaos to 1 GCP you get the same. might just be idiots though, no idea.
not that i like those rates... i have only one exalted so what's there to like, lol.

I think they want to make rangers take acrobatics as often as maras take resolute technique (not really but you get the idea)

The problem is still that evasion nodes are only worth it if you take IR and usually endurance charges. Increasing your evasion in the lategame does basically nothing. You need 47.5% evade to cap vs arrows and that's about it.
And adding Acrobatics, another binary layer of defense, to evasion really doesn't help much. Between blind, acrobatics, arrow dodge, evasion and blocks, you avoid 95%+ of hits, but you still need life to survive a hit, spells and DoT.
In D3, what made life mostly useless past a certain point was that LoH, lifesteal, stun, ailments and regen were not based on your max HP. Mitigating damage was much more useful than increasing your max health.

10th, 2nd Ranger, 984k XP. Had a terrible, terrible start, with no dmg until 3rd zone chests... But somehow I wasn't falling behind. Then I got the best Hall of Heroes I've ever seen. 3 rares, 4 huge packs of blue. Was running 2 quicksilvers so I could simply run past the exiles I didn't want to kill. Next run will be 1M =) Beat: Couldn't follow the sick matches @ Evo. =(

Don't like partying on bandits. Paranoid that some gigantic dick will just gank me on bandits and on Onslaught Merciless I really don't want to run that chance.
Thanks for the bandit tips. Decided to just tank it with granites, Kraityn hit much lower than expected. Oak wasn't bad either. Scared shitless of Merc Vaal though since I run blood magic and I can't dodge rocks for shit. Gonna gear up and practice on cruel vaal a bit

The only issues i got with merc vall were the rocks, i usually ate the first laser and had like 8 secs of shock on, dodged the next ones ez but got a rock right on the head as the last laser fires and drop to nearly 1 hp. Got myself a shock dispel flask and laughed at him coz laser and rocks are the only ways he can hit a ranged character

Just an update for anyone that was wondering, I sold my Lioneye's for 10 ex, already spent 2 ex. Traded 2 ex for a 20% Increased Burning Damage, 20% fire penetration and 9 GCP.
Currently Looking to buy: - Unique Flask - Quality Gems: 2x Item Rarity, 2x Item Quantity, Elemental Prolferation, and LGoH. - Carcass Jack
Edit: Yeah exalts are worth about 14.5 gcp atm.
Edit2: Had terrible terrible RNG in the descent race, I think I was doing like 45 dual strike dps by the time I got to the spider room, I barely scraped along to the ice cave, I found a Divine orb. :/ And then die 30 seconds later to a desync into being frozen and killed by exploding squids. I don't think I would have made it much farther anyway was only barely into the zone and had -20% cold.
Is there anyone here that is really good at the Duelist in Descent and could give me a couple tips? I seem to struggle to keep pace with most of the top players at around the beginning of the 3rd area. And I definately waste way too much time in the goat area with a lot of near deaths, which forces me to nearly full clear the spider area so I dont die in the statue area/ice cave. It seems my runs where I've made it through the statue and ice cave have been 100% smooth sailing after that, but getting past that in decent time seems to be the crucial part, so anyone got some tips?
