But you can buy a 6link for 16 exalt and thats alot less stressful imo. The odds are supposed to be 1-500 for a 6link, personally ive put over 200 fusings into items and have 2 5 links to show for it, no 6s. Im currently trying to even 5link a chest for my dual totem character, and have gone through around 80 fusings towards that end with no success. I found an awesome quiver yesterday, 33 dex 21 ele dmg 73 life 25chaos and 60% global crit( which is useless with the new change to how linked attacks work) I can divine the ele to 30%, I just haven't bothered yet. As for the global crit change, before say I fire a LMP/Chain LA into a pack without resolute, some would crit some wouldn't apparently, now its based on the first attack. If its a reflect pack and I crit I have to tank every hit as a crit reflect. Same thing with the new multistrike, either all crits or no crits. Better have proper gear now! Theres a video of a 90 ranger 2 shotting himself to reflect in a -19% map, first crit was 70% of his life.

I blew loads of scours today and have since then quit the game, no clue how you guys deal with so much RNG and/or find the power to farm so much and not get bored. Not really a rant as the game will be interesting once there's a new act (well, for a while) but getting like ~1% or less experience per run/map to me is horrible. The end game for Diablo 2 wasn't to reach level 99 typically. You had your full build by 80 in most cases and the same is true for PoE. Did he say something about D2....? I have a level 88 Templar. Level 80 in PoE is very different from level 80 in D2. I could get lvl 80 in about 2 hours in D2 doing uber runs. Level 88 in PoE is more like level 94-95 in D2, level 80 in PoE is like high 80s in D2 in terms of time investment. Also, for some builds, you really don't hit the top til late 80s. My DPS tripled from 80-88 as opposed to prior to 80. He didn't, but if you're playing the game to reach maximum level and don't enjoy grinding then I'm not sure why you're playing in the first place. Getting discouraged by exp rates in a game where levels barely matter at all is quite silly to me. Nothing in the game requires that high of a level and end game is entirely gear dependent. You can start mapping in the low 60s if you have the gear for it and if your gear sucks then you're still going to get owned even if you're level 75. Comparing uber runs to PoE leveling is also pretty funny. Do you think anybody knew how to level quickly like that when D2 first came out? What if GGG adds ubers so you can speed level years down the road? You can already level very quickly with twink gear. ^Feel like throwing up after watching that. I don't know how he even plays. Calm down bud, it wasn't a personal insult. Don't get all butthurt about it. It was a statement about comparative levels in PoE and D2. You didn't address anything that I actually wrote, I didn't say a single thing about maps or talking about getting discouraged or any of the crap your projected into your post. I also played D2 since the day it came out and I was running level 80s in a day long before ubers were added to the game. I simply stated my opinion as to comparative levels and that some builds do want to get above 80 to reach peak ability. I didn't suggest GGG add ubers or anything like that. Anyways, it's obviously a bit of a waste of time replying to you so I imagine I won't bother again. On to other matters: there is a community fusing log on the general discussion board of the official PoE forums, and although anecdotal evidence is questionable at best it appears that after several hundred submissions that the average number of fusings is between 800 and 900 to get a 6L. As someone above me mentioned, a lot of people are running lotteries now and putting up a prize like an item or 15 exalt to whoever gives them the fusing that 6L's their item. I have a friend who ran one of those lotteries, and his prize was 13 exalted. I donated a couple hundred fusings to him, didn't win, but some guy who donated 10 did. It took 3,516 fusings total to get the 6L. That's on the upper end of bad luck, but it could happen to you too. Considering most 6L items are only 20-30 exalt for decent stats (unless they are mirror quality), unless you happen to find a godly rare or are willing to craft a high ilevel white item and then 6L it yourself you're definitely better off buying one.

Second character was a double strike 1h duelist, made it past Vaal but died to Piety because again didn't know what bag of tricks she had and facetanked the lightning ball with little to no resist. Third is a frenzy ranger, which is now lvl80...

The char sheet in game is accurate for almost everything. Weapon DPS can be very misleading due to auras. It is calculated from the midpoint*aps, but it isn't a good measure of how good a weapon is imo, especially when you're dealing with elemental damage. For physical you can typically just look at the numbers on the weapon because of the way armor works. You're looking for a big swing rather than DPS. For elemental your DPS is important and there is a lot more to it than just your weapon. Having additional elemental rolls on auras/other armor pieces makes the attack speed on your weapon even more valuable. You can try to put all your stats into a spreadsheet and then remove the item in question I suppose, but that is a lot of effort to do comparisons.

You'll get a first look at the game, and you'll have a nice farming dude for all your other char to come. Even though my first build was terrible, I still have the character and still use it to farm. All my other dudes owes him so much ^^
