Multiple people have expressed concerns over the loot system, saying that they don't want to solo all the time because they're sociable/friendly people and want to play the game with others, but they don't want to group with randoms in the game who will go off and "steal" loot from them. And they're posting this on TL where multiple people have expressed this concern. If you actually want to play the game *with* people who will respect your rules, then why not find these other players who share similar viewpoints, on the very same site you are posting your complaints, and group with them if that is your only complaint about the game so far? Even a simple "Hey, if anybody on TL wants to play with me, add my character YYY" or "Hey, if anybody on TL wants to play with me, PM me with your character name". As for the guy who was saying that there a giant loot explosions in groups because of the IIQ, and it's difficult to find your item that has the timer, use Z. Unless things have changed recently, it will only display items that have your timer on them (note: This also means if you don't get to it in time, it will stop displaying its name). | ||

Loot issues are one of the hottest topics on the official boards beaten only by the mapping system probably. The issues are pretty intertwined though so you might even consider them the same thing. I imagine more overhauls are in the pipelines, but it is impossible to say when they'll be satisfactory. | ||

Unless things have changed recently, it will only display items that have your timer on them (note: This also means if you don't get to it in time, it will stop displaying its name). so? i wrote my ign like 5 times over the span of 3 weeks in this thread and a total of 3 people (one of which i actually contacted) are now in my fl. oh btw one hasnt played since like 3-4 weeks, other switched to hc. i more or less found a group i can map with which was lucky, its not in any way like your just gonna find a bunch of trustworthy nice guys that are on a similar level,similar times on etc etc. the loot can turn people off. thats why i solod from my witch almost evrything. started soloing docks from 58 and maps from 64 all the way up to 75 where i finally found some guys to map with. and right now im abit in this situation again. im soloing low maps with quantity/rarity gear and have nothing else to do if other guys arent on. doing even 69+ maps with randoms is just shitty. infact since i cant map with randoms and mapgame is frustrating as fuck for the first time since i downloaded the beta i havent played the game for more then 3 days. those 2 issues just keep me from doing anything fun in the game . | ||

Yes, Diablo 2 had FFA loots, but it was very problematic - and this was exacerbated by the fact that you can run hacks that allows auto-picking. It worked back then because there weren't a lot of games back then. Similarly, if you make a game with awkward and restricted UI like SCBW now (i.e. SBS, 12 units control group), absolutely no one will play the game. The point is, FFA loot distribution is ancient and no one uses it anymore because it sucks. I am not sure how the looting works right now on POE, but back when I played a month ago, basically in a party as soon as something drops, EVERYONE STOPS FIGHTING MOBS AND MOVE TOWARD THE DROP TO CAMP IT, because the loot allocation system gives you only a couple of seconds to pick something up. Honestly that's even worse than FFA. POE needs a good loot allocation system that is fair and modern. I think once an item is dropped, it needs to be assigned to a player for at least 5 minutes. Heck, even TL2's system is way better than POE's. | ||

I just wasted about 6 ex trying to craft a bow last week, it almost makes me want to quit, becuase I know my character will probably never be able to do higher level maps. Especially with Life on Hit being changed. (Which was a major nerf for me at my current DPS, right after I spent 1ex to get a 20% life on hit. T_T) | ||
