Because Southern California has a huge Latino population plus its soccer, not going to find a lot of soccer fans in Los Angeles. L.A. is a basketball town....and yes I'm from Southern California, I'm 15 minutes from the Rosebowl so I know.... It's like that everywhere except for a few places like Salt Lake City. Americans are just not that interested in soccer compared to football, basketball, or even baseball. If there was more interest we'd probably win a few world cups, given our enormous population and powerful economy which would make us likely to develop good players (like we do for basketball). I agree that USA would have great players with more interest in soccer but that doesn't mean you'll win some World Cups, there is still a long way to go to be compared with Spain, Holland, or countries like that, no matter the population or economical state. Oh yeah it would take a LONG time to catch up to those countries. I just mean that we have the resources to make it happen if there was an equal level of interest. Soccer would have to become big here first, and then maybe the next generation of players that grows up in that system would have a chance to compete for WC semis/finals/wins. At this point I'm just hoping we win 1 World Cup during my lifetime! | ||
