The real question is: Was she fun to play in alpha?

No, the fact that she was thought up by someone who is the textbook definition of a creep is the real question. Creepy really is the right word to use here.

She's a female professional wrestler, try googling real female professional wrestler images and see what they look like. It's kind of hilarious how R. Mika is one of the most realistically styled characters according to what she does in the SF universe.
Many things can be said of R. Mika's (and the real wrestlers) appearance, but singling her out like some sort of fantasy character of a basement dwelling virgin is hypocritical. When was the last time you saw a british special forces unit clad in thong leotards?

She's concepted in the same manner as most other SF characters - there's a real world inspiration or trope behind everyone. That doesn't make a design much better or worse in and of itself, imo. I mostly just find her over-the-top silly. (There is a wider discussion to be had about these things, but I don't feel like this is the thread for it.)
I just want to find out if she's fun to play mechanics wise.
I guess I'm gonna have to dig up some dusty SRK A3-threads. I hear she looks like she has a lot of her original stuff in.

If the leaked list have to be trusted, since R Mika was in one, the last 3 returning characters look like to be Urien Alex and Karin.
Which would mean no Juri, which I find hard to believe.

Her voice that accompanied that made it all the more rage-inducing. I thought R. Mika was better off staying in Alpha 3 then forgotten, her character design is as ridiculous as it was back then (it's basically the same). She must have made another appearance in a crossover game (that I didn't play) if she still has the popularity to make this resurgence. Hope she didn't take Zangief's place on the initial roster :/
Guess we'll be seeing Karin too. Hope they keep her original cool demeanor instead of making her into a raging and spoiled brat like in the Udon comics. But I prefer they bring back plenty other characters (like way more) before that happens, as her playstyle wasn't particularly fun to begin with.
From what I've always heard, Capcom doesn't actually own the rights to Karin. She was co-developed with an outside party and effectively licensed for Alpha 3. I don't know the details and can't confirm the authenticity of that though. People have been screaming for Karin in every game since A3 (same with R. Mika).

Who or what the hell are you referring to here? Her outfit may be a bit extreme but as far as character archetypes she is NOT that weird at all.... I'm really confused about all of this hate. I don't give a fuck about all the fan service and silliness about dat ass and all that, but some of the negative reactions are baffling. And the little gameplay we saw looked pretty sick IMO, which is what should matter.

The leaks look unreliable to me atm. Siliconera got R. Mika right, however, so maybe they're onto something. I'm guessing Sodom + Sim + Gief for returning fighters, Akuma as ensured early DLC dollars, 3S chars later.

still holding out hope for a boxer / brawler type char, who knows what to expect with what theyve shown so far. also pretty sure .01% of the people who asked for R Mika could actually play a competent R Mika if you made them play a3. No idea why people were thirsting for such a weird design to come back.
assist call as the v trigger seems pretty neat though

Cammy's butt-fetish costume has always annoyed me too, ever since SSF2. Anyways, I was hoping this would change a bit after like 20 years, but I guess not.
Stupid stylistic decisions aside, her actual moveset already looks hilarious and rage-inducing. I hope she becomes the Fuerte of SF5.

In Street Fighter comics, Fuerte watches Mika on Television, he's her biggest fan.

Also, I would not talk about the leaked list if they didn't get Birdie and Mika right, which NOBODY could have guessed. Birdie being literally one of the least popular character ever.

Finally a female. And a female grappler at that!

I'm just glad it isn't a sf2 character tbh. A bunch of sods they are.

Can someone point me where to find the list of players confirmed for SFV?
Bonus points if there's pics and info and stuff

Most of the cast has certain traits that go over the top with respect to whatever they're based on. I don't see this as a bad thing just a stylistic choice. Not entirely sure why you find it creepy though. Every time I play street fighter I love to jerk my stick around and a little eye candy is great for that
