Really scary performance by Daigo this tournament. Glad Bonchan made it this far, but I want him to be guaranteed a spot at the Capcom finals, damn it.

Good stuff to NuckleDu, he's becoming a real contender right now. Except that Ibuki. I still don't know what that was.

I do think Guile vs. Elena seems pretty bad (especially if Gamerbee just stayed back and built up multiple Ultras to heal all day), but surely his Decapre could of been better than that Ibuki......

That Ibuki was extremely fraudulent and I had extremely high hopes when I saw that character select screen. He would have been better off with Guile throughout (or giving Decapre a shot for one game, yes). He very clearly tilted after game 1.

I love NCR, I've lived in Norcal my entire life, but our tournament organization has always been terrible. Versiongate is a new low, I'm flabbergasted that that wasn't vetted properly.

The more fun thing to take away from versiongate is that several sponsored players managed to play full sets without noticing and snake eyez noticed within 15 seconds. Really shows who that patch affected lol

imagine a world where snake eyez skips NCR or just doesnt make top 16, we could've gone the whole night without realizing it.

Results of NCR 2015 and Hypespotting 4 are up on Eventhubs if anyone missed them.

I thought about writing better recaps for the OP, but then I thought better of it. Most of us watch the tournaments live, Eventhubs and Shoryuken both usually have tournament results up right away (even if their recap is laughably non-existent), and doing a more detailed write-up could clutter the OP real fast. I've been trying to vet content for the OP, and it's already quite big.

The hype got to me and I jumped back on Ultra since I saw new steam beta can fix lag. When I first tried it seemed so much better I was having such a great time. Yesterday and today however it is back to total laggy shit. I'm so sad...

to be fair, the characters the others affected picked didn't have easily noticeable changes from 1.03 to 1.04. A person complaining about health and damage values might just be called salty, whereas noticing banishing flat's distance is something a lot easier to see.

Supposedly the cause of Versiongate was Haunts didn't bring the devkit for the players to use on the stream Sunday. The dev console is what Capcom prefers to use while running their own stream because of its ease of logging and simple stream setup. Since they didn't have it, they had to use one of the NCR Xboxes instead which wasn't updated (it's not known whether this console was used during pool play).

Based on how Choi describes the situation it probably wasn't an issue in pools, where systems likely weren't being switched in and out causing any confusion. Just a question of running USF4 off the disc on a console that had it digitally downloaded, basically. Bummer. Choi's response and offer to send Kaz to a tournament as an apology is pretty sweet though.

That's cool Duka thanks for the link. The system prioritizing the disc over the HDD is really, really dumb.

This wrong version fiasco (which would probably be classified as a "never event" in another field ) was a hard lesson indeed, with the Xbox giving priority to disc. Never thought about that. At least T.O.'s can learn from this, it's just another thing to add to their checklist/protocol to prevent this from happening in the future.

That's quite ambitious, but I don't think we need "battle reports" for the matches since many things happen in a blink of an eye in these fights. I still miss a lot of what's actually going on, even with the commentary (it's amazing seeing Combofiend predict the plays/mixups correctly 3x in a row). I remember reading one of James Chen's analysis of a CvS match and that thing looked like a dissertation. Even in today's Twitch and YouTube age, he and UltraDavid would go the whole 40 minutes analyzing a particular match or strategy.

I'd say don't get burned out over write-ups, especially with the number of tourneys and matches we're getting, and keep things simple. Your OP is already doing a good job making this stuff more accessible to the TL community. Thanks for stepping up to the plate.

Anyone know what happened to exalted btw? Hope he's alright, or maybe he's just moved on.

Thanks for the support guys! I did manage to win my game and I was a complete nervous wreck while playing it (which is new for me!). I'm glad I managed to take that one win and I know if I played the other games again I could take those too!

Also to confirm, yes Emersion is a super nice guy.

The tournament was really great, loads of great memories and I can't wait to go to the next one!

Welcome back! Glad you got your one win.

I tried to pick you out in the crowd but I never got to see you. Did you shave your beard or are you just camera shy?

There is a fighting games thread which is mostly a link hub to all of the fighting games on TeamLiquid, and there is a thread about Guilty Gear XX Accent Core+ that's quite old. Not much in the way of fighting game info on TeamLiquid outside of USF4, Smash Bros. (which has its own subforum), and the very basic fighting games thread mentioned previously.

Toss it in the general Fighting Games thread that Aylear linked to. There's a few people that were talkin about it a bit when it released and probably still peek.

Nah, beard is still there! I was on stream at least once. When the first games started on Day 1 a friend spotted me so I was there (Mago vs. Nevillebamshew, Nev is a friend and when he was practiced, one of the best players in the UK). After that, I was mostly playing.

Here's Nev vs. ProFluke in a Ft5 from 3sports last year.
and them again in Grand Finals

Smug getting bodied isn't surprising, its sad but needed. The kid can't really get any better by beating the same people at NLBC every week. He needs this.
